If you are talking about the size of scallop, I don't think it made any actual difference besides looks.
That is what I was referring to and figured that you were also; yet thought that the discussion went beyond cosmetics only and that the designer might have (somehow) felt reason to do this in that location on the blade.
Again, I have never even owned a serrated knife before beyond the one on my dinner plate.
