I suspect a lot of fans are being very cagey in their expectations after the soul-crushing disappointment that was the second trilogy.  Yes I'm looking forward to seeing this, though I doubt I'll be queuing up on opening night.

I agree with all the above. I don't want to get my hopes up. On the plus side JJ Abrams is directing, and the trailer looks amazing: the crashed Star Destroyer, the X-Wings flying over the lake and the teaser of the old crew - all looks good. Topped off by.................No sign of C3PO It's all good!

I'll unlikely see this one in theatres unless I manage to sneak abroad... I refuse to see it dubbed in Spanish.

The prequels have a pretty high standard of disappointment, I doubt that level will be achieved again.

The only way is up!

I think the Director is a safe pair of hands and he has enough success to stick to his own vision rather than Lucas's ponzi scheme way of doing things. ::)

Fingers crossed.

Hate to disappoint, but Antony Daniels is definitely in the the new film.

Only just though! 3PO is the original JarJar (less rascist though thank goodness) I don't know what they were thinking about with jarjar.

comedy, although it ended up being completely childish/racist...

imho, they tried too hard to make the prequels excessively kid friendly

Yep, they're the ones who buy the merch.

We've had Battlestar Galactica since then which shows that there is an audience for brilliantly done drama, and I'm hoping JJ Abrams is going to draw a line under the sequels and start again as if they never happened.

My BIG concern is that it's now a Disney franchise.................

:o Who can resist Boba Fett merch though? He's my joint 2nd favourite character along with R2

Nice collection! Is it all Boba Fett or do you have other bits?

Ok, Jar Jar was a pain in the ass, I'll give you that, but I actually liked the prequels.

My main concern is Jar Jar Abrams having his fingers in it.

Chances are great (for me) that he will do the same as with Star Trek ..... making a nice SF-movie, but don´t get me related with it to the originals, which i love so much.

I´m a die hard SW-fan, having spent many thousands on my prop collection alone, but up to now the trailers didn´t get me very much exited. Not sure if i really will go to watch them in a public cinema when they come out, or just wait and watch them in my hometheater later, when the BR is out.
Have fun.

Bye,
Michael

If it was new actors playing the old parts (Han, Luke etc) then I'd be more worried about a re-hash, but since it's the proper cast then I think we are on firmer ground with the continuity.
