I feared it would be a disaster adding a Nite-Ize clip to a Mountaineer Lite, but it works great. I've just gone for a two hour walk with this in my pocket and it hasn't bothered me a bit.
(I couldn't find these anywhere in Europe; ended up ordering 2 from the USA... Shipping cost more than the clips themselves!)

Wow! Is that a home-brew or is there a warehouse full of these things that I don't know about?

No it's the new in box original Modeler that arrived in the mail yesterday :ahhh

Found it on ricardo.ch (a Swiss online marketplace like eBay)

Today the knife was used for the first time in the 25+ years since it left the factory  :D

Spartan Hardwood.

I really wasn't happy with this one from the factory. The wood was very light and without character. Also the edges were rough.

I spent some time sanding and rubbing with mineral oil this morning and then held it over a flame for a minute to darken it up a bit. Then I did a final polish on it with polishing papers and mineral oil and I'm quite happy with it now. I think I'll carry this one on weekends when I don't need additional tools.
