Does this mean the Grand will live? I seem to recall it's days were numbered.

It better live now!!  :ahhh   We can't really afford another vehicle payment (kids are bloody expensive!), so we have a plan in place.  In five years, we'll be in a good place financially, and I'll be able to get the Jeep that I want.

Mechanically, the Grand is in good shape, and should (fingers crossed) last five years.  The major rust (aka rocker panels) has been cut out, and what was welded in should outlast the Jeep ten fold.  I don't know if I'll do much more for upgrades to it or not.  I would like to get a set of 32" tires for it, maybe 33's, but I'm not sure if they'll fit without more lift or not.

If it had of needed a bunch of mechanical repairs, along with the rockers, chances are I would have just drove it until next September when the safety is up, and figured something out then.

I ran the power wire for my OBA kit that I'm going to be installing.  I had planned on running 4 gauge power wire, but I ended up running 1 gauge.

I actually still need to zip tie the power wire in place and make it a little neater.  Also, the fuse holder is only meant for 4 gauge wire, so I had to use my step drill bit to open the end up so I could get the wire though, and I needed to trim some of the wire so I could fit it into the connector.

Running through the biggest grommet in the firewall on the drivers side.

I used my step drill bit to drill a hole in the rear seat support.

The relay wired and installed.

Once my Viair kit and power distribution block arrives, I'll be able to finish the install.

I basically have my OBA installed now, and today I cleaned the wiring up some, but I'm still waiting for my distribution block and fuses to arrive to finish the install.

Thanks!

I'm not 100% happy with how the wiring looks though, so might mess around with it a bit more.

It's very quiet, and I was quite impressed with just how quiet it was.  The ones that plug into a cig lighter are WAY louder than this one.

That's good.  I was always worried about how loud a compressor was going to be in an enclosed space like the inside of a truck.

The rest of the parts came, so it's up and running. :D

I also installed my aux backup lights. I need to get a relay and switch so I can get them wired up though.

Looks like a 1990 mitsubishi pajero from the front and sides and a Nissan Quasqai (?)  from the back.

Still, a different, new model.

Other than a K&N cone filter and custom heat shield enclosure, it's stock.

Is the cone filter just on the stock intake tubes? I'd like a little more kick out of mine, I figure letting her breathe certainly isn't a bad plan.

No, I used 3" ABS from the throttle body.  I don't have any pics of the whole thing, but this shows the custom heat shield.  This one is meant to be a prototype for me to make a better one, but knowing me, this will be on for a while!!   The stock cool air pipe is plumbed in, and the filter and surrounding area do stay cool.

I did improve the fitment of the top cover some too since taking those pics.

I should also say that it does feel like it responds quicker, and definitely sounds better!

Okay that's what I was looking for. It definitely isn't a slouch but I just wish it had better pick up sometimes. I gotta say though, I had to pull our rather heavy boat out of the lake on nothing but wet sand as the owner won't make a ramp, and it did not spin the tires an inch. Pulled like there was nothing behind it at all. But who doesn't want more power

Well my wife gave me an early Christmas present today.  A dash cam! :tu:  Here's a very boring video of me going to get a coffee to test it out.

I'm not sure if it's Windows Movie Maker, or Youtube, but the quality is better on my PC.

Went on a good run yesterday.  Since we had 735.24 feet of rain last week, there was TONS of mud to be found!!! :D  I have around 3 hours of video to go through, and here part 1.  I've said it before, I'm no video editor, so hope it's OK.
