What do you use to make your favourite hot beverage in the backwoods?
 In scouts i remember the scout leaders ( everyone over 18) huddled around the morning campfire using a coleman percolator for their morning coffee. We also used those blue enamel coffee pots for tea and hot chocolate.

These days in fairly partial to my whistlin' tea kettle. It's more of a base camp type of item as totin it in the pack would be a pain.

I have a pour over coffee maker that collapses. Best thing ever for fresh coffee.

I just bought an Aeropress. www.aeropress.com I've been experimenting with it since it was delivered Monday. It is easy to use, and makes a good coffee. I've been making Americano's and think I'm going to stick with the inverted brewing method. I may get a filter disk for it in the future, but the paper filters are working just fine right now.

my tea kettle - a kitchen aid cheap-o from Target, makes tea great though.

Found this at the grocery house for under 5 bucks, bottom row of the coffee aisle. Works great and is super simple. Uses #2 filters. It's been in the larder for while now. Not a big coffe drinker but in case someone comes over needin java.  ::)

I use a small French press (made of Lexan, not glass) when camping.  a French press is one of my favorite ways to make coffee anyway, so it's a win-win, really.  :)

I do still use one of those blue enamel coffee pots to heat up the water though.  :D

I've been using a Primula Coffee Brew Buddy lately. Works on the same principle as a Finum Brewing Basket but more packable with its fabric filter.

BTW - the MSR Mugmate is a Finum Brewing Basket at an inflated price.

At home or on the go I use a manual drip filter funnel like this one;
http://www.amazon.com/RSVP-Manual-Coffee-Carafes-Thermos/dp/B000BUDDTY/ref=sr_1_3?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1374559254&sr=1-3&keywords=coffee+funnel

Makes your coffee and pours right into your favorite carafe or thermos.
