The ultimate Paracord bracelet! OMG
on: March 29, 2013, 12:13:42 AM
I found this while looking around and just had to post this, OMG this has got to be the most useful bracelet I have ever seen, theres two diff ones, heres what the main one has.. JR :o

    12' of 550 Paracord
    30' of 80lb Fishing Line
    1 x #8 fishing hook
1 x whistle molded into buckle
    1 x p51 can opener
1 x flint fire starter rod
    1 x snare/leader wire
Developed by a Special Forces SERE Level C Graduate
Made in the USA by a US Army Combat Veteran

Now only if it had one of the compasses on it!
Theres second one exchanges the whistle side release buckle and uses one that keeps a handcuff key inside it, neat, but id rather have the whistle, but thats my opinion. a little steep on the price if you ask me, but hey, if it saves your life you cant put a price on it!! heres the link

Cool, all that's missing is a compass.

I like the idea of adding more utility to them, but not for $50! :o

The bits are worth about $5, and making them is a fairly easy thing to do. That would take me about 20 mins tops I suspect.

But but but it's designed by a Specials Forces SERE grad!  And made by a US Army Vet!
Clearly that makes it worth $50

All US Army Special Forces have to graduate SERE Level C training. I'm not sure why they had to state that.

More buzzwords to put in the marketing.

If you wanna support the troops, go nuts.  I support that.

What I hate hate hate is companies trying to justify frankly ridiculous markups on otherwise very cheap to produce items with "patriotism" and appeals to some macho warrior fantasy.

See also "Tops knives".  At least Tops have the good sense to include marketing text that looks like it was written by a hyperactive 8 year old (spelling and grammar included).

I make my own bracelets, and I have done basically the same design before.

but while we are on this topic, does anyone know where to get flint steel with a two holes in it like they used in the link in the first post?
If I can help, let me know

eBay, I know for a fact they have them, another toon up that they now make for those bracelets is the side release buckle, there now available with both the whistle and handcuff key! On top of that there starting to put a compass on also, and others are starting to sell that setup for cheaper.
I don't think all the little things on the inside are needed, but one with the whistle clip, can opener, flint, and compass would make an ultimate bracelet! JR

I am curious as to what Multi and or Sak gets used in your kitchen the most.
For us we use 3 different ones alot in the Kitchen
1. Leatherman Flair
2. Victorinox Picknicker
3.Wenger Mountaineer Ranger

Its weird because all three have corkscrews.
The Picknicker gets used the most esp with that serrated blade, wife loves it to cut tomatoes, buns etc, the Mountaineer has huge scissors which get used alot and if we need pliers well there's the Flair!
The most used one for screws is the Vic,great for slotted or phillips screws.
The Wenger has a huge clip point blade to go with that huge scissor!

These three always stay in the kitchen but my wife always brings the Picknicker when we go camping or for a day trip.

Kap

The Wenger seems to be quite rare, the only one I have seen I bought and its been well worth the money.

Thanks!   I have whistle buckles that I use on some,   but the Flint with a hole or two seems awesome to me.   I have done the p38 or p51 on a few, so that can be my Flint striker

I got a ton of the whistle clips, there all 1" ones, I also got a compass I can put on. I made one a long time ago with a whistle clip, compass, and even a thermometer, the paracord is even a reflective one. JR
