Way to go Gareth, good guess, you nailed it! It's for doing ductwork/sheet metal, I have two of them, well three if you count a little mini one, but two of two diff weights of the one you see below. I might be a plumber but I majored in sheet metal ductwork fabrication. It was kinda funny seeing my classmates coming in and using the masons hammers to hit the metal, it don't work right! Just wish I knew where half of my tools disappeared to! JR

I had a bit of a leg-up in that I did a bit (though only a bit) of sheet metal working at college when I was an apprentice.

I think all us working folk should show off our work hammers.

here's my favorite to use.

a old True Temper Rocket

its the hammer I,use to build things with. One of my favorite things to do .

I use different hammers for different tasks.

I only have one favorite hammer she's been a great tool I've used for what seems like forever now.

Tricky tricky, but it's nice to finally meet someone who knows the same stuff.. Ever use an electric duct hammer? That thing you needed freaking earplugs! Or pinch your finger in the shear? I watched one of my classmates step on the peddle, and watch the blade come down, luckily her finger was only under the fence and not the blade, still smashed the finger bad, but still, better then the blade! My neighbor had one of those, it's a good little hammer, but I never could stand such a curled claw, I gotta have a straight one, especially back in the day having to have to go out on a roof, oh no, if I slipped I had to have something I could swing and catch on my way down! JR

Talking of extras Tony, here's one of your old ones I got from the moot. Helped me build my SI Farmer and it's a lot easier to peen with than my Trusty Estwing! Cheers!  :salute:
