Oblivion

I just came back from the theatre. I watched the film OBLIVION. There was a scene where Tom Cruise was at a transmission tower(empire state building) and deployed a "white Skeletool". to cut some wiring. Did Leatherman have something to do with the white Skeletool? Or did the film's prop-master go crazy with the white paint??

And some condemned for a fault alone." -William Shakespeare, King Lear (1608), Act IV, scene 6, line 169

I cannot answer your question, but a white Skeletool would be sweet.

The carabiner is clearly visible, so either a standard Skeletool or CX.

it could be leatherman made. I remember a while back there was some talk of red ones
Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob

The red was indeed an REI exclusive, and the yellow, orange and blue ones were available in many countries outside of the U.S. That white one though, wow, very interesting spot there BT! :salute: It looks like the pivot screws are painted white too though, like they painted the tool after it was assembled?

Well that, and I think Tom Cruise is a pretty little squirt in real life. A MUT might look a bit oddly oversize in his hands.

From my days on Fbook, Leatherman wernt aware of it being used in the movie. It was spotted by moviegoers and we were told it was resprayed in prop dept. Unlike G.I. Joe 2, when they were approached and supplied tools for it. They were given moral patches from the movie which they gave away in a compotition.

Finally watching this movie. My wife spotted the tool and asked if I knew what it was.

I told her I knew what it was week before the movie started.  :D
