Agreed!  Very cool!

Dumb question though- why do quads have microphones on them?  Is that "horde of angry bees" sound really that important to the final product?  :P

My DJI P3 has no built-in mic.
I have no need for one as the motor sound/wind noise would be terrible.
So I just add music to my video edits.

I gotta give credit two that one who crashed into the tall building and recovered before hitting ground, that and the one who ran like half a mile to grab it as it just before hitting the water, then got tanked by a wave! But the one that had me laughing was the one on take off, I kinda felt bad for him considering how he got got hit, lol

Works for me.  Frankly I think that makes a lot more sense than shooting it, as I would imagine a drone is a hell of a target to nail accurately.

surely it would be easier to scan for the frequency of the controls and jam them?
The difficult we do immediately, the impossible takes a little longer.

I think I'll stick with the eagle idea TBH.  There's a lot less chance of people being injured by sending out a trained animal to retrieve something than to start jamming frequencies or shooting things out of the sky.

Better to send the eagle out to grab the device while the tech buys triangulate the position of the controller so they can inform him of the rules governing such things and lay charges if necessary.

Here is a clip from a few days ago. Windy, and I had to lower the resolution a lot to make the clip size small.

some videos and pictures of the Flying 3D

I am using photobucket, so I had to lower the resolution and the picture quality.
I also need to balance the new props....

in flight (It is impressive that you can put the transmitter to the side, get a camera, take pictures, and it just stays there hovering)

Videos

Most of the flight is in FPV, as it is too small to see, when it flies high.

So I managed to improve the quality of the uploaded clips, a bit. Still way below the actual video I get, but it gives you a general idea.

A passenger plane believed to have been struck by an unknown object as it approached Heathrow is now not thought to have been hit by a drone, the government has said.

Transport minister Robert Goodwill told the Lords European Union internal market subcommittee last week .......

He said: “There was no actual damage to the plane and there is indeed some speculation it may have been even a plastic bag or something. The pilot has a lot of other things to concentrate on [when landing] so we’re not quite sure what they saw.”

I just happened to look out the window at the right time yesterday and saw this guy setting up a drone in the park across the road from my house.  After watching for a few minutes I realized he was with the company that did the siding on the house across the other road and he was recording footage for their portfolio.

Needless to say I tried to snap a few photos of the drone because it's always fun to watch the watchers!  :D

The zoom on my phone was maxed out to get these photos, and I am not sure where my big camera is right now so these photos will have to do...

I spent the night at my old buddy Frank's place last night and got to look at one if his drones.  He's into aerial photography and started his own company providing aerial photos and video to production companies, real estate companies and so on.

This is what he calls his "big drone."  I didnt see the smaller one.  Needless to say, he had to launch this sucker before I got too much drool on it and shorted it out!
