Vic Champ. Seems like a great deal, but wondering why the auction's running from the USA, yet the knives are shipping from China. What's up with that??

I've been several times in China. Even (and lets only assume) if they a genuine, they are not cheaper because they are bought in China.

The overall costs in China are cheaper than in other countries, yes. But if you buy something "Made in Europe" it costs the same as in Europe but mostly it's way more expensive. (i.e. we saw a pen, made by "Schneider" sold there for 20€, in Germany it is sold for 9€. A chinese fake however was like 1€).

In this particular case I expect those swisschamps to be fakes.

I work in and out of the greater China region, and from experience, Victorinox will be consider a branded name items, and like many branded goods, it usually does cost much higher than the rest of the world(tax, high demand, inflated price for esteem, etc).

Btw, I just checked the fleabay site, the location switched to Rio Rancho, New Mexico, United States  :o

That's correct. But if you read the item description it clearly states that the item will ship from China.
