Weird inbox notification

OK, I've been getting these occasionally for a couple of months now. I know none of the other staff members have ever gotten one but I wonder if any of our regular members ever saw that or if you had a notification that your inbox was full. As far as I know we don't have a limitation on how many PMs someone can have in their inbox. :think:


This notification is for my incoming PMs. I currently have 641 received and 596 sent PMs in my inbox. Functionality isn't  hindered in any way. I just find this notifications weird. :shrug:

yes, it'd be interesting to know if this is happening to anyone else.

I recently ran a bunch of the built in maintenance routines, but I don't think that's related. This could be a carry over from when we upgraded from v1.x to v2.x of the forum software, but I think you were registered before that happened?

I vaguely recall seeing something like that a long time ago, but IIRC it cleared itself pretty quickly. Might have deleted an old message or two before it cleared, but can't fully recall  :think:

Got another one just now. First one since I started this thread, but that's about the interval in which I encounter them.


727 massages and 201,9% full. So the numbers are consistent. The limit by these numbers would be 360 messages in the inbox. 360 x 2,019 = 726,84 and 360 x 1,781 = 641,16 from the first post.


How many PMs do you guys have in your inbox? You guys with more than 360 PMs, ever see these? I know you can't see the number of your PMs on the desktop, but it's easy to check in tapatalk. It's on top of the inbox there.

Got another one yesterday took a screenshot but forgot to post here. Seems to happen about once a month. No other connections that I see. And only happens to me. :ahhh

You can't on desktop. If you use tapatalk, it should be written on top of your inbox.

As an admin I don't get limited anywhere in the forum.

From what I read over on the SMF support forums that capacity bar should always be there...

Not sure exactly why it shows you as over the limit as there's no limit imposed anywhere.

If it should always be there, do you or anyone else see it? I never saw it until I started to get the red notifications, and now only see it once or twice a month.

so... whatever the hickup is, it's not fixed... but since it's not actually preventing you from sending/receiving PMs I guess we just consider it a non issue.

It's most likely some bad link somewhere in the database that occasionally kicks up and that's entirely too much data to sift through to find the issue.
