I'm trying to find pictures of a shortened MP600 plier head (the way it sticks out from the handles irritates me)

Does anyone know where I might find some?

Well, I know of the following "normal" (ie std production) MP600 pliers:

Needle Nose with carbide cutters
Needle Nose without carbide cutters
Needle Nose with cap crimper
Blunt Nose with carbide cutters
Blunt Nose without carbide cutters
Fisherman(Technician) extra long needle nose with carbide cutters
Cable Cutter

Which particular one were you interested in ?

I've got an MP600 Needle Nose, Carbide cutters.

I don't like the way the pliers stick out the end of the handles when they are contracted, so I'm considering grinding them back a bit, and was wondering if anyway had done it, and if there were pictures of how it looked after :P

I'm pretty sure a few people on here have ground back their MP600 NN pliers and published photos, but IIRC they were the ones without carbide cutters and they ground them back quite a lot to make very blunt nose pliers.  That may be a bit more than what you are proposing, but they looked OK to me.

Just grind a little and see what that looks like and if you don't like the way it is going then don't grind anymore :D What you are talking about doing is just taking it back some and I don't think it will change the look of it that much :tu:

Retract pliers, scribe round end of handles with sharpie marker, extend pliers, if still unsure, take picture, post here, and then we all say "go for it".....

I thought I had replied to this -

So I've marked it out, and the length is all good, appears it would still be quite usableing (possibly more so. I've had great success with my involuntarily shorterned LM Wave)

But something irks me - The teeth on the plier head run somewhat parallel, with the "tip" having a slightly deeper tooth (I don't have it in front of me right now, so this description could be very misleading) that engages and keeps the pliers more or less "firm" together when inside the handle.

I am wondering what "play" would eventuate if the tip (and thus those deeper teeth) were removed?

Would really like to see someone else's attempt at this before "bubba"ing my own* tool.

*well, it's *hers*, but I gave her an LM wave, and I think she's happier now, so I'm trying to give Gerber a respectable chance at winning some carry time with me.
