A quick pocket dump shows this is what I've got on me at the moment;

Where's the ever ready Zippo lighter?? :ahhh  Yes, it ran out of fuel and I need to get some more. :-[

Watch is Timex Expedition, white SAK is a Rambler, and my new toy; the Gerber Recoil. 8)

You are a brave man!  I read what Chako had to say about the CRIPPLING effects of the Recoil!

Well, I wouldn't recommend pocket carrying it. ;)  Honestly though I've not had any issue with accidental fire, even when I've forgotten to flick on the safety.  Truth be told; it really has been a far more capable MT than I was giving it credit for.:tu:

I want the Flik and you are making me want it more. :) I've only not bought it because I'm afraid the philips won't work.

I know what you mean.  :-\  I had real issues with the Phillips on mine being far, far to thick and simply not fitting into a screw head.  The good news is that I have since had a look at a couple of others and mine does seem to have been a mistake, rather than the norm.

Regarding Gerber's 2D Phillips; I'm not a huge fan TBH, I'd much rather have a proper 3D.  HOWEVER, I feel exactly the same about the 2D Phillips you get with the Leatherman Wave etc.  So if you can live with the LM, then I think you should be able to live with the Gerber. :)

Thanks, my only experience with a Gerber 2D philips has been with the suspension so you can guess how that turned out.

That normally lives in my Maxped organizer, but I decided to give it an outing today and put it in my pocket.  Not sure I actually used it though. :D

I do carry a Mini Mag AA in my workbag (actually, my first ever, nearly 20 year old one) and a Solitaire in my Skinth with my Spirit. Another Mini Mag lives on the tool-board in my shop and a 3D one sits in my car.
All carry LED dropins of differing quality and Light output, but they serve me well.

Just relised that the AAA LED Mini-Mag did get some proper use the day after.  It was instrumental in helping me replace the internals in a concealed toilet cistern. 8)

Well, it's the weekend and things tend to get a lot less complicated for me when not at work.  Full sized MTs tend to get dropped, as does my bit adaptor set, and I normally just carry a SAK or small MT.  This weekend it's been my underused Gerber Dime.

Also that is my new Casio F-91W, the W-59 shown above has a strap that is on it's last legs and I've decided that it'll be best to let my daughter have it.

Alway nice to have something new! How long did the strap last on the old one?

Good question.  a bit short of two years at a guess, but as it was my regular work watch it did see a lot of use and abuse in that time.  It's not actually gone yet, but the strap does have some good cracks across it so I'd say it's only a matter of time before it breaks.  Besides, as you say, it's always nice to have an excuse to buy something new. :D

TBH it's what I call them at work as well, I just like the look of walkie-talkie.  It's just possible I'm slightly peculiar though.

Nice gear Gareth, I always wanted a pair of walkies, but it is one of the things my missus does not let me buy stating I have no use for it... Lucky she does agree I have a use for multi's and knives  :)

Walkie talkies are great on farms and work sites. At work we call the handheld repeaters a radio.

While the walkie-talkie is intended to cover me for lone working, i.e. "has anyone seen Gareth recently?" in fact what it is normally used for is "HELP, WE NEED YOU, WE ARE ALL GROWN ADULTS BUT SOMEHOW CANNOT TIE OUR SHOELACES WITHOUT YOU!" :ahhh.

I may be exaggerating slightly

I have to admit I forgotten to put a bigger torch in my pocket this morning and the Maglite 2xAAA LED lives in my bag as a back up.  It's still a perfectly good light though. :tu:
