Ah, I totally had it wrong ;). I'll keep trying that method as well.  It seems like a good way.

Well, if a picture is worth a thousand words......then a video's got to be even better. :D

Just picked up a bg mini multi tool. Can't say I'm impressed. Was on clearance at my target. Don't think I would have been happy to have paid full price. Usually 10 bucks, but got it for about 7. Fun little you, but would not rely on it. Junk drawer fodder now.

Just got my first flicky pliers:

With added corkscrew :)

These things are great.  Bit rattly, but love the slidy head.

Sweet corkscrew MP400.  They are a bit rattly, but it does not equate to bad quality.  :tu:

Cheers cap'n. I figured they were supposed to be like that. Great fun, though I think my colleagues got sick of the snick snick this afternoon.

Awaiting a new fisherman I bought off ebay, my first Gerber I think.  Looks like they have one left.

PM me if you want one of my kidneys for your SOG TiNi multitool.

OK, both my kidneys.

Nice one Mon.  :tu:

Does anyone know why Gerber switched the blade shape on their multitools? It's one thing that just drives me up a wall. I absolutely despise the "newer" style blade. It makes no sense to me.  :bnghd:

Sorry for being so cheery this morning.  :D

Thanks buddy!  I don't know why the blade was changed, but I'm young in the  flicky faith ;). It looks like the same size as the blade on the MP400 though, which is odd.  I would think the 600's blade would be a bit bigger.  It's good for me as a utility type blade since I already have a nice PE blade on my SAK.

This should go in the knife section, but I'm already here. Costco had this on for $29, so I couldn't pass it by again.

I stumbled on a Resolve from the less popular Suspension family. I do have some of that family already and even though it´s not my intention to get them I thought "I might as well....."

The only problem is that the tools are awfully stiff on one side. It seems like one of the washers with a small tab is dislocated or broken and maybe that´s the reason.
I´v tried to loosen up the torx which is pretty straight forward compared to the cnurled screws on Leatherman. I ´v heaten up the screw with a lighter but it´s so stuck i can´t move it.I even destroyd a premium torx driver that coudn´t stand the force.
I do suck at it though I´m quite handy about other stuff but I never managed to undo  a LM cnurled screw and now I ´m defeated by a simple Gerber torx to.

Did you try both sides? Generally the post side is keyed, trying to move that side won't work well.

Aha, this is interesting information. Thanks. How do I know which side to turn?

That can vary between models. My guess would be the saw and scissor sides. Get it nice and hot with the lighter first as well.  :tu:

I expected it to feel more solid, stronger than my ST300, but it just feels like an MP600, which could be good or bad...

I posted some comparison pictures in the what you have on the way thread.

I think Gerbers are growing on me. Can't believe how much I liked that BO frame when I got it... Whats next a Flik?

So I tore all my MP-600 (a whoooping two pieces) apart and put what I perceive as the most useful tools back in. Technically not new, but its a new look.
