Yes indeed, I've been saving that material for a few months. The blank I got wasn't very good in terms of the burl/acrylic ratio, so I was only able to get one full set of scales out of it. I've put it up for sale, and oddly enough, nobody wants it  :-\

Mile is the reason I got started with SAKs. He's also a good enabler.

Compact with solid 4mm copper scales. Bonded with 24h epoxy, I don't see a force in the world taking these apart from the liners. Next one will be done with 3mm copper. Or brass...

Would love to see 3mm brass but that copper will patina so nicely. Very cool.

How much for some copper Mile? You can PM me if the special Harley discount is to much to make public.

I can tell you that the Compact sold for 125$, I think that's fair given the hours I put into it. I had plans to crater the surface and force a patina, but the buyer wanted it kosher so it was simply polished. It stayed with me for about 10 days before shipping, the patina is beautiful. I will do more copper soon, but I can't find flat 3mm brass stock at the moment

Thank you for the inspiration. I'm making a couple custom SAKs that will be getting wooden scales because of it.

I did this Compact with copper scales a few months ago. The owner from UK got it and decided it was too square for his liking so he sent it back for some extra work. Here is the improved, rounder version.
