I have a feeling I'm gonna like these.

BTW, is that supposed to be Dalmatian as in Dalmacija.

Yep, can't wait to cut them and see what they're like. To be honest, never expected Taiwanese to be great spellers...

Also, here's the business end of a scale for a Cybertool:

Also... A customer mistakenly sent me a Wenger today instead of a Victorinox so I guess I'm forced to test my skills  :ahhh

I think we have a Taiwanese guy here who's pretty good at spelling. ;) Maybe he could help. :P

I probably linked you to my wenger scales tutorial at some time in the past, right?  Don't cut it to liner, cut it to the scale size, the wengers use recessed scales that could be a bit of a pain to make in acrylic. Good luck.

It's time to wrap up some remaining orders... Finished 3 this weekend. First off, Climber in what I was told is bubinga burl. However I don't think this is true, seller had no idea what wood it was and it was pretty so I had to buy it. If anyone has a better idea on what type of wood this is, feel free to chime in.

Second, I had to redo the Cybertool 34 which I did in blue acrylic because the pen slot wouldn't hold up. Finished the knife, polished it, checked the pen one final time for fit and CRACK goes the scale. Needless to say I was so mad I wanted to punch babies. Zebrawood cross cut, my final piece of this wood.

Finally, Spartan in jade G10.

As you can tell, jade G10 is not the easiest thing in the world to photograph

I took the scales off, realized what I had to do, then I took the Wenger and traded it for a Climber  >:D

I know, lots of work on those especially if doing it by hand. They look cool though.

I would perhaps attempt it but this week I have 5 more other SAKs to do, and doing that between classes, my PhD program and having some free time to hunt Cadets on ebay... I decided to take a shortcut on the Wenger  :D

I made one set of wood scales for a Wenger Commander and yes, inletting the whole side liner into the scales makes it a long and tricky job. Also you have a lot of thin fragile edge that can break off.
If I wanted to do one again I would disassemble the knife and remake the side liners full size like a Vic. Still a lot of work but the end result would be more durable.

I spotted the label on some of the blanks you use and ordered some of the resin blanks myself.

I got "Blue Topaz Water" and "Woodland Camo" and in the jumbo pen blank size "Turquoise" and "Mother of Pearl".

I was pleased to find the "realstone" range there as it will enable me to add a stone scale version to my Recruit Parade.

Looking forward to it. Let's see if you can top Rotokid's Turquoise Wenger. :pok:

Actually got these through a friend who wanted these precise acrylic patterns. There's practically no such thing I wouldn't make scales out of... Several people have been talking me into doing solid copper scales so I might attempt that next.

Recruit in fire&ice acrylic. It's a breath of fresh air to do a SAK with no backside tools

Those new acrylics look great!  I especially like the Dalmatian--it appears to have good depth to it.

The first SAK is a Tinker, done in exotic African beli wood. Beli wood is similar to zebra wood but with less contrast between the stripes and background.

Coincidentally, today I finished a Climber in zebra wood. Here's some pics.

Finished today for a buddy from Serbia. SAK is a weird hybrid made from spare tools. Large blade, combo tool and philips driver. He lightly stonewashed the tools and added the filework on the liners. I did the scales... Hawaiian koa wood.

Beli is also called zebrali in some countries.
