Well, I only own one, the Crosscut.

I haven't liked anything else I've gotten from them. I try my best to ignore ad stuff. If I hadn't, I'd have never tried any of the Bear Grylls branded stuff. Turns out some of it isn't too bad. :D

Sorry to hear about your disillusionment of an entire brand.  :-\

The switch pliers are from a different time ..

yeah I'm not going to say what offended me. Its just as much a fault of their poor quality as the offensive advertisements.

Well, I'm not a hard user of my tools, don't really get in those opportunities, but I do carry it :) Not the tool I'd choose if I expected hard work, though.

Really, -all- my tools are users, as far as I get to use them.

I would be shocked if SOG realeses a new tool that doesnt suck.  I think that time is long past.  The classic tools from them are fantastic though.

Switchplier
Paratool
PPP
Powerlock

Great tools, and I love them.  The power assist while similar to the powerlock I have to give a thumbs down to.  Weird fiddly locks and there is plastic in the mechanism.  Any plastic in an MT gets points off from me.

That power duo thing OMG what an embarrassment.  So like I said, I dont expect any new awesome tools from them but everytime I pick up the paratool I still love it.  Small and versatile.  Once you get used to how the pliers open its not a big deal, but I sure did find them odd at first.

Never had any SOG, kinda hard to come by in Europe, and when encountered, way to pricey.  Would not mind to get my hands on a black SOG Bowie though...

SOG fixed blades sure have nice lines to look at, but I think they are overpriced for what you get as far as material goes.

I sold off most of my SOGs after the pliers broke on a PL. It just didn't seem right to me.

I'm real curious as to an ad that could have that effect.

I like the Paratool, it's well made and a little different, not EDC but slips in the pocket nicely when dressed.

I think we all had high hopes for the Duo, it could have been great!!

I don't see any ads for any MT/SAK companies...not sure what the deal is there   I've only got one SOG myself, the PPP.  It's not bad, and likely sufficient for my light usage, but it's not one of me EDC tools.  I'll carry it around home some evenings.

Yeah, I would hate to be so paranoid to think I needed to be that geared up and armored every day.  It's even funnier that this dude thinks he has enemies from this "tactical force" job of his that will attempt to take him out as if he's in some high profile gig.  Anyway, interesting and funny read :D
