On second thought. I might need a Pulaski, Tommy and small broad axe. Before the year is out.    :D

Won a True Temper Tommy Axe today. Will post a pic when it arrives. Missed out on a couple nice Pulaski's but watching another. A Collins I think.    :)

The TT Tommy axe has arrived. Its in great shape. It appears never to have been sharpened. Just need to find a good handle and hang it.    :)

Nice one, David :tu:

I have to ask though, especially Tony who has seen his share of axe heads. ;) Do you encounter the nail puller in the blade part of the axe head often around your parts? Cause I haven't seen any posted here on the forum or any others so far. The were usually used here in construction when taking apart scaffolding and such I think.

Pic from earlier in the tread:

I've cleaned it up a bit and the stamp reads Jeklo which would translate to steel in Slovenian. Not sure if it was maybe a name of a company at some point.

Enki, yes your twice as special.   :D   I've never seen one either. Your pic is a first. The only axe heads with nail pullers notches I've seen are on the bottom of the blade.

:P

I've googled a bit and found a new one just like it. Also from Slovenia, so it might be a regional thing.

The writing on the handle says Gradbena sekira (Construction axe) / Made in Slovenia.

And a link I found. so the 80 means 0,80 kilograms.

Interesting bit of axe intel. From the study I've done on axe history many axe head patterns are regional or have regional influence.

True Temper broad axe. It is kind of beat up and looks to have welded between the blade and eye. It appear to have been done good so it is proably still sevice able. I got it cheap so if all else fails it is a good example for the collection.     :)

Agreed, that's a :dd: axe head. Very cool looking. I've searched for different models from True Temper after your previous post and I think if I'd live in the US, I'd also have a few on the way already. :ahhh

I won a Collins Pulaski axe head yesterday. It is kind of rusty. I hope it's not to bad. I'll know for sure when it arrives in a few days.

The Collins Pulaski wasn't in as bad a shape as the photo indicated. Which helped keep the price down.    :D
