Nice pics!  :)

Regarding the t-shank changer, do you have to loosen up the pivot screw to get the holder disengaged in order to switch the tools?

I did not touch pivot screws...  T-shank holder opens little bit stiff but changing blades is doable...

I think I see how it works!  It actually opens up from the inside of the tool, right?

Lots of nice detailed pic's, good to see all the detail.
Anybody notice the teeth on the plier head are finer than the Supertool 300 teeth?

I wish I know how to take such HD photos of my Surge.
IMO the Stainless steel looks much better than BO.

So what is your verdict on the new Surge compared to other MT's?   :td: or  :tu:

Is it better than the ST300, Rebar or your Core?

Nice shots! As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.

I have been EDC'n my new Surge for a few weeks. I really wanted to be excited about it, and I am, but the ergonomics are just a little off for me. With the pliers closed, the handles are borderline too far apart for me, and I don't feel like I have small hands. When it comes time to grip a bolt or anything that requires an "open wide" moment, it's almost a two hand operation if you want any kind of grip strength.

By contrast, my ST300 easily fits my grip span when closed, and isn't bad when grabbing large objects.

The older Surge handles were closer together. I wonder if they needed to change it for the new pliers, or if it was done to resolve a pinch point?

I love the new Surge.  I kept it over a MUT, ST300, and OHT.

It was my most recent purchase, and I am glad I waited until the redesign. The biggest appeal to the ST300 was the replaceable cutters, so when they were added to the Surge it became a no brainier. I think it trumps the ST300 on build quality and one handed opening is another plus, for the most part has better reach on tools than the OHT, and has more useful tools than the MUT ( I am not a gun owner -ymmv).

Nice pic review.

Never thought about getting a Surge (Old) before, but the New one seems to interest me now. Just need to find a BO version to go along with the rest of my BO versions of my ST200, Core and ST300.

You should be using the Stranded Wire Cutter notch underneath the plier head just above the Crimper to cut that type of wire to get a cleaner cut.  :D

The same notch you have the nail in.
