On my second day of carrying I'm already thinking of swapping some of the Powerplier tools for scissors, they're just too handy, and who the hell needs a Robertson drive here in Europe?

What size Robertson is it?

Being an European I am quite unfamiliar with robertson screws/drivers, but I'd say it's a Robertson size 2 (it ain't written on the tool itself)

I carried this beauty today as well and it came handy unexpectedly when i had to screw back a door's pommel that was quite wobbly and loose. Nobody asked for it, but it bothered me seeing it this way when I went to the bath...
My toys:

MTs: Surge (2x), Skeletool CX, Rebar, Blast, Fuse, Micra, Squirt (3x), Wave, Crunch, Mini, Spirit (2x), Pro Scout, MP700 (2x), Diesel, Powerlock, PowerPlier (2x), PocketPowerPlier, Blacktip , ST6 (2x), 5WR, A100

SAKs: Bantam, Executive, Ambassador, Minichamp, Classic Alox, Champion, Farmer, Explorer, Swisschamp, Golf Tool, Wenger Champ, EVO 52, Pocket Tool Chest

What size Robertson is it?

#2 IIRC. The most common, at least that I've seen.

Just in the last few years I've been seeing Robertson on screws that require high torque, probably as an easier-to-manufacture (hence, cheaper) alternative to Torx. They can take more torque than phillips, which tend to cam out; but they can't take as much torque as Torx, after driving a couple hundred putting down backing board for tile floors, I've got a small pile of rounded-off Robertson bits to prove it.

I could give it a good home if you ever swap it out.

that looks a nice well used hatchet you got there.👍🏻

I like to use my tools as much as I can, so I stick to durable stuff...

knives, saws, MTs...they must be up to the task

and the SOG sure feels built to last!

Is it true that the cutter and can opener snag on eachother?

Is it true that the cutter and can opener snag on eachother?

Yes. If you try to put them right up against each other, the small screwdriver tip snags on the rivet/blade on the V-cut. But, you can easily find another spot for them. For instance, the V-cut is supposed to be a left-side tool, but I have mine on the right (on my PowerLock) - I put a washer against the handle and then put the V-cut. It rubs the handle a little but it is flexible enough that it's no biggie.

Ah, or it could be traded out for a blade ie a plain edge or serrated blade.

Of course it could :tu: that is the beauty of most of the SOG tools - just mix and match until you figure out what you want to do. However, I was looking to replace the blade on my PowerLock. I wanted it knifeless. You see, my PowerLock is my on-duty tool, and I always carry a dedicated folder while I am on-duty. I dislike redundancy. So why not run the V-cutter in its place? I like it a lot, it is very useful

They are not bad, but they are no where near as good as the ones on a Surge.

How are the SOG scissors?

They vary. In general, they aren't as sharp or cut as well as Victorinox (ANY model) or Leatherman Wave/Charge scissors, and not *quite* as good as LM Juice or Wingman scissors, but both bigger and better than most Gerber "Fiskars" scissors. If you get lucky, they cut pretty well, but a bad set will drive you crazy.
