Once I got a gun belt, AKA a duty belt, everything carries like a champ with no sag at all. Last night I went to a friends with my Skinth 2 XL loaded up, my IWB holster and larger/heavy-ish folder on me and nobody was the wiser. Love it.

Any recommendations for a duty belt? I'd prefer something I can wear with jeans or cargo/khakis (do they come in leather?)?

@toolslinger

Yes, leather belts. Just made to be rugged, with dual-layer bullhide. This is the particular model I chose, but they have a variety of styles.

http://www.thebeltman.net/bh112.htm

If you do get one, I recommend you choose the 7 holes 3/4" apart, rather than 5 holes at 1" apart. It will give you more options to find your comfort zone.

They're not cheap, but then they're not built cheap either. They're handmade dual layer and tough as hell. This is a belt that will last, that's for sure.

Good luck!

Ok as I got my surge back this morning I'm playing about with load outs.

Here the beast all closed up, I like the lamy pens, they write very well but I wouldn't be too upset if I lost one, the CRKT TAO pen was the one I won in the giveaway sometime ago.  The fastex buckles I prefer over Velcro as if they wear out or break they are easier to replace. Also once they are closed you can't snag it on anything and have it open.

I went for the Molle attachment as my main back packs have Molle on them. The Velcro vertical carry will be useful on my small day sack/assault pack that I use when I out shooting.

This is what is in/on it so far, the tin is the same size as the altoids tin and that will have a small FAK in it. I'm also hunting for a flashlight that will fit as well.

Updates as it changes chaps

I like the looks of that one. And I hate it when velcro dies. Time to start a skinth fund eh.

My og.

Guess I should've asked before I ordered.

But do you think the molle attachment would play nicely on a first responder for belt carry ?

Should've asked Eric if he could do Velcro backing in my comments.

Is that a Maglite clip on the Leatherman bit extender? Maybe a clip from a writing pen?

You can add Space Pen pocket clip. It works beautifully with the LB bit extender and attaches to the wider part at the top. Done it myself, works like a charm. It can also be ordered as a separate part so no need to take it off the Bullet pen.

It's a clip from a cheap Staples 'liquid pencil'. I only bought them for the clips the pencil is rubbish

If I'm honest, I find the Scixors to be the weak link in the chain. I have found several True Utility items to be quite useful, but these vex me a little. I find them slipping sideways in my fingers then "leaping" out of my hands - not as badly as the Gerber Solstice though - that's EVIL - don't ever get one of those if you prefer to keep your blood inside your skin!!  :ahhh :ahhh

I've only worn this kit occasionally to be honest, and I'm persevering with them in case it's more operator error than a characteristic of the tool  :D, but if I don't master them I might end up switching the Standard for a Compact or Timekeeper unless I find some other small scissors, and maybe stick some small nail clippers in the scixors space instead

The Standard will still get carry time though even if the scixors get the better of me, as it can pair up with my modded Kick or MP400, which both have scissors anyway. The other items have done very well though, and I think this is probably the best overall set up that I've used the Skinth for  I'm actually getting on better with the PST than I thought I would, and the E11 is an excellent little light. I've got a lot of function in that kit, and it's one of the very few set ups that I'll actually belt carry rather than pocket carry  :salute:

I am about to buy a skinth sheath. I have many MTs and want the most versatile sheath. I have Wave, Surge, ST300, Charge, MUT,
MP600 (needle nose), SwissTool X. Etc.

What would you recommend that could carry all of these (not at same time) From the looks of it I was
thinking the MUT shield would be big enough to support all my tools. I know it would leave the
smaller tools with a little bit of play but that is okay.

Please let me know.

You should ask the maker, which is the member metropolycity.
For 4" tools in 4.5" Skinths you can simply put something underneath to raise them. I put the Victorinox neck lanyard andbit works perfectly.

The Victorinox neck lanyard is nice and useful when you work over water or the road (I use it when I change the lamps of my professional billboard, if my Swisschamp XLT or any Multi I use falls from my hands I might kill someone). It is easy to enfold it and put it under your 4" tools and then it might prove handy. But you might use anything else as well.

If you have something to put under the smaller tools, I don't think it'd be much of a problem (like Kkokkolis' lanyard), a tool thats too deep in the sheath is really quite annoying, certainly if you load the other pockets up as well.

Or you push your tool up from underneath. I do that all the time for easier access.

I think I've settled on my Skinth set up............ for now.................maybe  :D.  I have been going with this set up for a bit and really like it.  I'm back to 7-8 ish on my hip and honestly dont notice it at all.

Love your load out Aloha. Have a couple of questions though.

What size Skinth is this?

Love the Wave, good choice but why carry a Juice too?

No extender. Not enough room, need or you just do not like it?
