Hi from Brum, UK
on: February 20, 2014, 04:14:43 PM
Hi guys.

I was looking for some info on modding a Leatherman MT and Google led me here. Some really good info on here too.

About me:

I'm from Birmingham in the UK, 34 with a couple of young kids and I drive lorries. I've had a Leatherman Surge for the last couple of years and love it. So much so that I've increased my LM collection to a Freestyle, Squirt PS4 and most recently a Wave.

Since having the kids, I've found having some kind of MT on me has become increasingly necessary, mostly for fixing the kids toys/unscrewing battery compartments.

After spending a weeks or so looking around here, I can see this place is going to be bad for my wallet. Lol.

Chris

welcome mate
Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob

Greetings and Welcome to MTo. Your wallet will cringe at the mere sound of the computer turning on but you'll have some great tools so

welcome Chris
proper parenting requires a multitool (or six) I can't imagine how anyone survives the trial of kids without one  I have been saved many times from having to get up from my comfy perch when asked "dad can you just mend this ?"
you might have to cut back on feeding them pesky kids though, just to afford all the new toys you'll want if you hang around here for long  ::)

Ha, the same thing happens to me at least twice a day. :D

I have the Squirt and a mini pry tool on my key chain, and my eldest (who is three) knows to get 'daddy's keys' if my pocket MT doesn't have the right tool.

two very slippery slopes mate, and you're at the top of them !
'being too clever' and 'buying multitools', both will get you in trouble
