on: February 27, 2014, 12:07:17 AM
A friend of mine got me this set from Serepick at the shot show . They work quite well , tho they are nontraditional . Handy for a weekend in Vegas baby !

Handy little kit, are they Bogata Picks?
I saw a neat little handcuff key the other day...Tiny Inconspicuous Handcuff Key or TIHK.

I did learn it but it gets boring quickly. Not that I was all that good at it. I suppose you know the Titan locks used on the front doors? Well it would normally took me about 10 minutes to open one of those.  Although they do contain two security spool pins...

That is a neat little kit. All sorts of wonderful goodness in a compact package.

Picking is simple to start learning, getting good is where the effort comes in.  Practice, practice, practice, and all that.

Yep , Bogata Nanos . As we speak there are standard sized , in both Ti and Stainless , Mini's , flat Mini's ( can be velcroed under a shoulder patch ) , and smallest of all .... the Naos . The kit contains both a cuff shim x2 , and a low profile key .

Picking , to me , is almost like meditation . I still get a rush whenever a lock pops , or I help a Newb. to pop his first lock .

That's really cool, I always wanted to learn how to pick locks like on tv.  Maybe one day when I get time.  So the bogota picks are the 2 in the upper right hand corner right, what is all the other stuff used for?

I saw a neat pouch for the Mini's and such at http://store.lawindustries.co.uk/
You can probably get something similar from Vigilant Gear in the US :tu:

The only thing I've ever broken in to was an '89 Plymouth Grand Voyager.

I had to do it more than a few times because sometimes the key just wouldn't open the doors.

A cop asked me what I was doing once and when I pointed out the mushrooms growing in the carpet in front of the front passenger seat he figured I was either the owner or doing the owner a massive favour.

A bent coathanger did the trick.

What happens if the cops search you and you're carrying a set of picks? is it breaking the law to carry them?

Good choice of pickset . HPC makes tuff stuff . If you can , add a few extra tension wrenches . ( different sixe keyways , top or bottom of the keyway , etc . ) You can substitute a pick ie: a diamond can stand in for a hook or rake , but you are SMURFED without the right wrench .

Check out Bosnian Bill on You Tube - lots of good vids for all ability levels . Beware of B.S. vids , where some guy is making it look way too easy . Kokomo Lock is also very . Schyler Towne has some good basic stuff , as does Wizzwazal .
