Utility/craft knife. That goes into a 1/4 hexholder.

Lowes has the set which has only the large blade holder on clearance, under $5. That and 4 spare blades taped to a bit of card stock are already in my bag of tricks, I'm thinking of picking up some of the longer sheepsfoot blades and maybe the chisel and fine saw as well

I bought that too,  just for the blade holder / adapter thingy and extra blades.
If I can help, let me know

The Stormtrooper I ordered from Syph came in this past weekend. I'm VERY tempted not to give it to him. The Mrs just told me (and I quote), "get him to make you one." No better words have been spoken in a while like that :D :D :D :D

LM Wingman arrived today. Glad I only bought it to destroy it, although £20 is still expensive for a pair of scissors which might not fit the tools I hoped they would.

I'll NOT be replacing the Kick pliers with the Wingman's sprung ones either. Very noticable drop in quality. As for putting the package opener or other tools in something else ... not altogether convinced there either. I know it's a budget priced tool, but this really does a good job of making the Suspension look like a viable tool choice. The Suspension certainly has better ergonomics as pliers.

I reckon I should be able to put the scissors in something, and the clip will probably come in useful too .... not sure about the rest

SCHF16 and CRKT Minimalist

The Schrade as you can see is a small fixed blade.  I was wanting to try a fixed blade for work and didnt want to spend a bunch.  I looked around and this knife seemed to be getting a lot of love on the interwebs so after months I finally pulled to trigger.  It came very dull and unlike some reports the sheath came perfect fitted.

The CRKT I thought would be a great knife also for work or even day to day.  I handled one and loved the way it felt in my hand.  The sheath on this is also perfectly fitted and the edge was very sharp.

I haven't had enough time with either but next month will prove if these are what I had envisioned.

The price point on each was more than fair $14 for the Schrade and $22 for the CRKT.

You got the "bowie" (clip) model, I've been looking for one locally. I've been carrying a warncliffe one for months, goes on before the glasses and after the alarm clock. You will not regret it.

I wanted to see how much more efficient having a fixed blade would be in a work environment.  No deploying, no lock, and quick access.  Granted I was perfectly fine with my other knives for work I just wanted to give a little fix blade a try.  So far today it has been a joy to use.  I did run in on the ceramic rods then a quick strop as with all newly acquired sharp objects.

New haul just in. From the same collector I spoke about earlier:
Ranger
Explorer Black
Pioneer Black
Midnite Mini Champ
Swiss Champ Translucent red
2 x Spyderco Delica 4 green and purple
Spyderco Dragonfly 1

Had to sell my Surge and ST300 to get this haul but I think it was well worth it. Paid $310 for all and prices at our knife dealers were between $700- $750
The only con is that I got a Drangonfly 1 with AUS-8 steel but no biggie because all literally brand new with blades that are paper cutting sharp so I guess that makes up for that.

My niece has laid claim to the purple Delica 4.

That's an awesome haul.

I'm not a big fan of the DF 1 due to the fixed clip, but that's just me. :)

But I think you did very well at a good price for the lot.

Thanks enki_ck, I left a message for you on the other thread I started regarding the DF.

+1 on the fixed pocket clip.

Great haul mrmustard.  While not a fan of the fixed clip either I'd have also picked up all that for the price.

Thanks Aloha007 but I am left broke for the rest of the month  but somehow I don't seem to regret it at all.

Next up on my wishlist, a Leatherman Blast, I have been hunting for this sucker for a long time but have not managed to secure a lucky find yet. Maybe if I am lucky there may still be some left at the dealers around Christmas.

This arrived through the post a few days ago

I wasnt even looking for one but couldn't resist it

It was listed on ebayuk at £30 BIN inc' postage. At first I thought it was an unusual model as the blade wasnt shown... :ahhh yeah, wishful thinking.

However just after I bought it, I received a message from the seller saying not to be alarmed he would still post it. Yep - eBay had removed it.

Anyway it showed up last thursday and I soon realised why the blade wasn't shown...it was badly bent at the tip. It snapped off whilst I tried to straighten it. So I simply reprofiled the tip on my wetstone grinder. I actually quite like it.

BTW I never realised that Gerber pouches had the quick release option - Doh

I went out today and somehow found a few items that caught my eye.

At a local pawn shop, I spied this used Gerber Mark II. It is a bit scuffed up, but the price was low. A good find.

They also had this fake Ka Bar. I bought it to see what the knife felt like in the hand. It was cheap, and I must say, this fake is ok. Now this only makes want to get one of the real ones.

The pawn shop also had this cheap but neat knife.

Now this one is just plain weird. The box said it was a Ranger Knife...but what a hunk of metal. Thick, heavy, and a chopper. It is in green also...so maybe the zombies won't see me until its too late.

At the Country Store, they had this on sale. Looks like I was on a non folding knife kick today. This is a Buck 679 BuckLite MAX Large.

At another store, I found these Ruko Survivor knives. Both are small, one being a PE blade, the other serrated.

And at another location, I found two of these very cheap but pretty knives.

On top of the knives, I found a few other things today. Here is a neat magnesium fires starter.

A quick adjust wrench.

A Coghlans folding camp saw.

A Gerber BG survival poncho.

Another Gerber Dime...on sale dirt cheap.

And a Gerber folding shovel.

This one is different as it gives you a hammer.

And that is it for today's acquisitions.

I had to go look at photos of an airforce knife. I would have to say yes, I guess it is. It was only a few bucks however. Guess this means I may have to try and get a real one...much like the Ka Bar, down the road.

My brushed brass Zippo which I've carried for years has been MIA for several days now.  :(  After searching my house and the store extensively, I've accepted the fact that it's gone.  This evening though I picked up a polished brass one for $18 at a gas station.  It was in the wrong place in the display case, but the guy gave it to me for that price.  :)

Just got a Gerber Order back from Gerber that I sent in on warranty repair, been broke for about 3 months and finally got around to getting it fixed, feels like I just got a brand new toy (even though I carried it since they were announced).

Also, I got a Leatherman MUT last weekend which has been quite handy so far as a weekend carry
