What SAK do the Swiss Guard carry?

What SAK do the Swiss Guard carry?

Ok,it's a bit of a dumb question,but I'm watching Angels and Demons ATM, and the Swiss Guard are of course in it.

So I was wondering...given that the Swiss Guard are not part of the Swiss Army,do they have a SAK,and if so,which one?
There is no beginning,or ending,and for this we are thankful,cos now is hard enough to understand!

Aren't they? I thought they were recruited from the Swiss Army. :think:

As for the SAK, it's the current issue SAK I believe. I saw a documentary about them some time ago and one of them was showing off his (then) ALOX Soldier.

I'd assume that it's the standard issue Soldier.  Their rifles and handguns are standard Swiss Army issue.....

I want a halberd.  No particular reason, just because...... :dd:

I haven't seen anywhere where it is standard issue. I bet they do not carry a SAK at all.

Don't know what their personal equipment includes, but their on-line gift shop sells a Vic Spartan.

Who needs a SAK if you can have the bigger brother, a Halberd? :D

And since there are only 110 Mercenaries/Policemen/HowWouldYouCallThem who have to undergo swiss military training before joining, I would say a) The are likely to carry similiar equipment as the swiss army and b) there is less uniformity than in bigger armies.

Good for you to just watch the movie, I found the book a little too fantastic to stomach. But I have some problems in general with Dan Brown's books. A good read, but some people take them too serious and don't get that it's total fiction.

Go, get one, they are awesome. However, be advised heavy objects moving fast with lots of pointy ends are the recipe for injuries ::)
