Took the little Moment with me into the woods again today. A little more testing today, despite its small stature I used it for some batoning and chopping as best I could. I was impressed to be quite honest, I'm enjoying it.

I almost always carry underneath my shirt an original Alan Folts made spear point minimalist with black G10 handles and in a matching kydex sheath.

Hear, hear!!

I've carried one of the CRKT/Folts Minimalist in the warncliffe pattern for over a year now. Easiest thing in the world to resharpen and it's a little big knife! But it has been spending the past few days at home- I came across the clip point (bowie) version at Lowe's over the weekend. For $20. I was going to buy one of those Camilus Phenoms that I've heard people chattering about, but sudden change in plans.

A little bigger, the jimping is a little more friendly to wet/cold skin. I think the fit isn't quite as good, the scales are under sized, literally only the thickness of a peice of paper, but I'm not sure if it going to create hot spots under heavy work. The funny thing, and I've confirmed this with CRKT is that they come with a sheath origionally designed for the tanto model- it is a very tight and secure fit, but being GFN, I'm not sure if it won't become an issue down the road as the center of the belly is going into the seam of the sheath. The belt loop is the same design as for the warncliff, but I think it works MUCH better here.

I bought the other one they had tonight. That's going into my PSK to replace the little Aitor that has been in there for the past few years.

Canadian Belt Boat knife, with the Yachtsman sheat which includes the marlin spike/shackle opener :)

I don't know what I would do with a marlin spike but I would buy it because it's unique and a Grohmann !

I carry a Lynx neck knife of Master cutlery for my everyday carry and I sometimes use it as boot knife as well when attached to the knife sheath.
If I need to pick some good EDC tools.
Then I would take my love leatherman multi tool wave and a flash light. Other are just a waste !!!

I completely missed this post , my bad. I plan on doing a head to head test of the two soon actually. I haven't gotten to really use either all that much, but the Mora definitely fits in the hand better. The edge on the moment is fairly thin, so I can't see it being as durable as the Mora either. But it's likely to be my bait/other unappealing jobs knife, so I'm not concerned about it's well being.

Over-do post, I'm sorry Grathr. Took the Mora out with me on a hike/bike and stopped to play around with it for a while. It's a comfortable, nimble, solid blade. But none of this is news to you guys. The last picture is a comparison between the Mora and the Moment for a little bit of chopping action. Mora is on the left, and as you can see won it quite easily and with less effort. The Mora is definitely the better knife out of the two, but I do enjoy both. Thank you again buddy, I'll be doing a head to head with the two of them soon I hope.
