Whilst it does seem really interesting I rapidly came to the conclusion it a novelty item. The view 'overviews' on youtube kind of showed people struggling to justify having one. For US$38+ there is so much out there that would be a better buy. I get that its in the small 'stashable' catorgorie for that sort of money why not just go for a BG survival hatchet? To heavy? Need it smaller? A Becker Necker Bk11 would possibly process the wood better by batoning a v-cut.
Incidently I have noticed a whole range of little one piece 9" axes from various brands on ebay and got a few from different sources to compare them. (all around $15-$20 delivered worldwide) This style:
I think they make the best budget neck-knife/machete/axe/whatever option. The sort of thing you can abuse the crap out of, not cry if it gets lost, stolen or confiscated. One of them will end up in my Suzuki FZ50 toolkit.
The thing that seems to vary in quality is the sheaths but that's relative as they are all crap. (making one from pvc soon) Still for half the price of the EDA they also make the list of better options
