So I made a flathead driver to replace the 2D. Its a little longer reach, although I messed up and didn't line up the ends very good, oops. Just some tapering on the sides till it fit. No more 2D drivers in my life :D
Everything closes good.  :tu:

My "nearly knifeless" Wave and Fuse.

Fuse has regained its scissors, previously donated to Rebar, from Wave.  Wave failed to get its Wingman scissors due to a smeg-up enlarging the hole  but TBH I prefer the saw and file in their own slots.   Though the opener is the first tool I sacrifice for space (after the Wave precision driver :D) I like an outside opener.

2D bits will fit in the unused space in the knife bays.  A holiday project maybe

Thought I could drill it but I was wrong and it snapped.

Thanks for the tip, I am about to start working on the Mini-Surge mod for my Wave, so perfect timing. I have diamond drill bits but will most likely use Breezy's method with a carbide Dremel bit and go easy and careful on it. S/S steel shouldn't snap like that, I would expect a reasonable amount of flex before the snapping point.

Hi, do you know where could I get one of those Rebar head for my Charge Tti? Maybe is cheaper than buy a new Rebar and exchange it. Thanks

unfortunately, Leatherman does not sell individual parts, and the Rebar plier heads are very popular around here. ;) I have plenty of Rebar bodies from all the mods I've done.

if you're trying to save money, your best bet is to try to find a used Rebar on ebay or something and use that.

It is a good thing regular people do not know about how we value used Rebars.

I was planning on making a little brother for my black oxide Surge. Are there any good scissor options for the Mini Surge in black oxide?

Not really, no.

There are few custom 91mm Vics with aftermarket BO & DLC finished scissors but those are special pieces.

I don´t know how far they are apart pivot and sizewise, but the Gerber MP 400 does come in BO and has scissors.

I didn't think Gerber's would fit without a decent amount of modification required which would ultimately affect (mar) the BO look and finish.

Stainless should be OK but still require quite a bit of work to fit well and lock properly.

I think Metro used them. I'll try to find some pics later.

@Breault - It appears you should be fine with the Fiskars from the Flik, as per photo attached below. This will depend on your level of modding skills of course, but according to Eric it's pretty straightforward.

Figured I would add my latest mod to the thread...

OHT with 91mm Vic scissors and Rebar lanyard ring.  Works pretty sweet!

Is it just me or do the OHT tools all look rather small in comparison to say a wave? I've never actually handles one so I'm purely going by JT's Photos.

Not noticeable shorter than the tools on a Gerber MP 600 pro, but much better accessible.
Have fun.

Michael

That is true. I had a mp600 with other Gerbers I don't like any of them.

I think I'll try a FLIK before an OHT. Seems over priced to me

Not one I'd recommend mate to be honest. I've tried one and was very underwhelmed, and there's lots of Gerbers I like. I have a write up on it somewhere
