Facebook group for alox enthusiasts
on: April 22, 2014, 04:30:57 PM
Some folks I know created a (closed) group on Facebook for alox fans.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/VictorinoxALOX/

Being closed means you'll have to be approved (which everyone is) and that none of your friends can see what you post here so it won't show up on their walls. The group is intended for discussion, sharing pics and information, mods and sales and trades of course. I'm not the administrator, just sharing the link in case anyone wants to join in  :)

What's the problem? I've bought and sold many things through Facebook groups in the last year... Also met some great people

Actually most facebook "users" refuse to use facebook ;)

Facebook claims to have 1.3 bio active users, who log into fb for a total of 680 mio minutes / month. That gives every user half a minute a month. But since FB claims that the average fb visit is 18 minutes that means that most of those 1.3 bio users never go to the fb page.

It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

you have to see facebook as a free foto service with unlimited bandwidth. The site is made to share stuff, so they dont cap anything.
Create a private image folder, upload you image, open the image in a new window, copy the url and share on MTO for free.  :climber:

I used to refuse Facebook but I finally created an account. It's nothing special, mainly a bunch of annoying threads that get my blood-pressure up. But I try to check what's new daily.

As for this group, I feel it is too specialized in that it only addresses Alox SAKs. Now if it were for all SAKs I might be interested. Oh well.

That's my favorite EDC type FB page.  So many pages get way side tracked.

And I admit, I do like to occasionally bait a mall ninja or two... :D

There are other EDC groups for general EDC gear (sales, trades and dump pics), however those have huge amounts of members and posts get easily lost. I like a specific, more intimate group myself :)

Thanks for bumping this. I had joined earlier but hadn't been on FB for awhile cause the news headlines tend to just irritate me. Lol.

Anyway, I followed the link to FB and someone had helpfully posted an ebay alert for an old cross electrician, which I have a severe alox weakness for, that I snagged.

And I took a closer look at the black and white scaled piece Bob finished. Nice work indeed.
