Maybe I'll pick up a single KFC to try. They are probably too stout for me anyway.

I have a  Ramon Bueso Genesis The Project Robusto in the tube for today or tomorrow.

BTW, I got 2 of these samplers last month when they were $10.00 and FREE Shipping! They are 19.99 now and limit one per customer! I wish I could have afforded more.

Are they a dry-cured smoke, stiff and dry?

Well, my emoticon is legit on that BH, I'm afraid. Very disappointing taste, which is number one for me on a cigar. I can put up w/construction issues, most times (not that there were any). However, I put that thing out with easily more life in it. You would think that a vendor's promo offering would be an example of their 'best foot forward', even though they may wish to distribute a small size to keep their costs down. I would hope this is not a routine example of their wares, based on good things I'm reading of the brand.

I've been rather puzzled at finding NO Te-Amo Puros at my local B&M's(Phoenix being close to Mexico).  it's been over 20yrs since I lived in Florida, but that WAS one of my faves before I went into a long respite from stogies. Response ranges from 'what's a Te-Amo', to 'We used to carry the Revolution', to "I haven't had anyone mention them in YEARS". :(

Anyhoo, I bought this robusto single to try, knowing that if I dug it, that another B&M near me was blowing out her last bundle. It was simply 'meh' in the taste department. I loved the 'box press', which allowed an otherwise giant gauge to rest more comfortably in the mouth. On the other hand, keeping an even burn is awkward when you rotate it 90 to the 'wide' side, LOL. I won't be buying another.

As I type, I am savoring a wonderful  Cusano M1 corona in a light wrap, part of my order from FS. If this thing holds well through the stick, it's definitely going to be a re-order for me.

The word is that it is cured in a smokehouse with the leaves hanging to dry. The smoke comes from a fire below the hanging tobacco using hickory, maple and oak. I'm not sure about the stiff part.

Vic, that's surprising on the Brick House! My experience was the exact opposite!!! I was constantly thinking "what a fantastic cigar" and wishing it was a churchill.

Closest thing to a perfect cigar as I have smoked in years.

Well, even my local Total Wine has started to carry their sampler-pack. So, I'll have to try one from one of my other shops. Perhaps it just wasn't at the right rH. As you point out, it seems to have great praise.

The Cusano was subject to a snub, and I re-lit it late last night. it's a winner. ;)

I had several of these (http://www.mikescigars.com/cigars/macanudo-miniature-108) last week.  Not as satisfying as the full size ones, but sometimes it is all I have time for.
