Your coffee mug
on: May 07, 2014, 06:12:54 PM
In another thread, someone mentioned the 'favorite coffee mug', and it occurred to me, I don't just have A favorite, I only have one. MY mug. And it's been with me for nearly 20 years. Anyone else have a near and dear coffee mug?

my trusty 20oz stainless steel insulated mug... I've been using this one pretty much every day for almost 14 years now. :o

the best part about this mug is the insulation. it keeps my coffee hot for hours. I can put hot coffee in it around 7am, and it will still be hot (not just warm, but still hot) around noon. on the rare occasion my coffee lasts that long, that is... :D

I was about to say.

I think my first cup of coffee in the day (I usually have 2), lasts MAYBE an hour, but usually more like half an hour.

I may have a 'coffee problem'. :D

I don't think you're the only one around here with a 'coffee problem', Lynn. :D

pretty much the only time my coffee lasts that long is if I have to spend the morning working in one of the labs with a strict no food/drink policy in place. although I really don't know how they expect us to be productive without coffee...

One more reason to take pictures, I have to make a list and recruit Sweety as assistant.

My cups have to battle one tough enemy: There is not enough room on our Senseo for a high cup, but we need minimum 0,25 L cups (Me for a double portion of coffee, Sweety for a 1:1 mixture coffee to milk). We have some nice cups we can't really use with it. Seldom we have the need to use a normal coffee machine, as we drink one cup in the morning max. And then during the day I am studying alone and need a cup every 3 hours or so.
The Senseo is much better than leaving another machine running all day or heating the coffee in the microwave.

The thought alone makes me shudder!

I do have no special mug, and I don´t have a coffee problem.
I only have a problem without...  :D
I usually drink 2-3 Mugs in the morning before work. More exactly, I do my office work from home, so most times I drink 2 mugs at the breakfast tabel and empty the third in front of teh PC and a chaotic pile of paperwork.
I add about 1-3 more mugs over teh day, depending on teh amount of outside/office work.

Hmm... this is weird but I thought... never mind...
I only drink coffee in the evening after a really great meal, so no special mug.
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

I was in scrap metal business with SCHOLZ subsidary.

Now I'm in .A.S.A. Serbia (Abfall Service Austria) waste management company (communal waste, industrial, hazardous, landfill, treatment etc)

The only special mug I have is the one with coffee in it. :D  I do have an Arcosteel thermos that I've had for probably close to 15 years, and it keeps coffee hot from 6:30 to well after lunch.

My three favorite mugs. The Looney-Tunes one is my weekday morning coffee, the Stainless/vacuum one is my work mug ("normal" mugs don't last long if you throw them in a toolbox) and the "Cow" mug (or should I say bucket) is for the weekend. 1/2 a litre of triple shot latte just starts a Saturday off like nothing else.
CT34 and Juice C2 for size reference.  the stainless mug is the only normal size one there, the others are bigger and huger.

My coffee maker is actually only a single-cup brew system. I bet some folks would find that sad. :D

We have one of those at work. The way we drink coffee here at the store, we'd be better off with a big coffee urn......  At home I have a 12-cup pot. Again, an urn would probably be more efficient. :)

These are my favorites. A big mug for tea, cocoa and Cafè Crema XL with the Swedish chef, a Loha cup (one at home with a Vespa, one at the clinic with a 2CV and one at the office with a double decker London bus in fact, plus a couple of knock offs with Loumidi's parrot) for almost everything and a double cup for Greek coffee and the occasional espressos. I have a couple more at the summer house. Backdrop is the Tassimo coffee maker that the family adores (I also like the Bialetti Mukka Express Cappuccino maker, but only me)

I have used the pink cup for almost 5 years.  I had several but lost them or left them at job sites.  I love these awful cups for some unknown reason, the don't keep cold/cold nor hot/hot

The pink and white one is barely better but I talked myself into getting it since I am down to my last pink cup  :(

Very true. I just always use bigger cups for soda and the such. I guess it might help me cut back on so much sugary crap.  ;)

Drink tea, cocoa, chamomile, roobos, sachlep, telium, mint, whatever.
You can provide your avatar picture (even neck down) to a kiosk that prints mugshots. Think about that!
