+1 to what Millhouse and Gareth said.  As a bonus, you get to flik the pliers to get to the inside tools. :D Gerber's OH pliers are as addicting to play with to me as Kershaw's AO system on their knives, but a lot more people-friendly.....

Has anybody gotten the MP600 Bladeless yet? I was just cruising around on Gerber's site and saw it listed. Anyways, pretty cool move on Gerber's part, good for travel (probably) and should be legal in UK etc...

http://www.gerbergear.com/Industrial/Tools/MP600-Bladeless_30-000952

I was going to make a new thread but since I am at work, the restrictions the gov't puts on our network won't allow me to.

I honestly had no idea these existed. Very cool!  :tu:

Maybe this is the push Leatherman needs to make a bladeless Rebar.

Very good to see Gerber doing this, but they might want to push on the marketing a little harder. ;)

Sadly I'm not sure we'll ever see a bladeless Rebar Cap.  IIRC we believed the bladeless Fuse was pulled due to poor sales.  Again, I'm not sure it was well marketed.

Bladeless multitools do need to be put front and centre in some markets IMO, we could debate the rights and wrongs of some national knife laws (again) but wherever you are a MT without a knife has to be a simple choice.

I do like the toolset, although I could do without the can opener - at least they left the lanyard ring out.

After thinking about it (What else should I do on my desk, supposed to be working...  ;)) I´d replace the can opener with the awl - or would that be against the no knife policy rules, too?

that'll be Gerber's frustrating regional redirect. ::)  When you click the link it'll transform into a .co.uk.  Change it back to a .com and it'll work.

Ironic that its available in the US,but not here in the UK

I'd give it a chance, it does look like it's a new line.  I do hope it becomes available soon (and at a good price) here. :)

I could foresee the saw being a problem on what is billed as a bladeless MT.  Will the TSA and other security checkpoints consider the saw not to be a blade?  I wouldn't count on it.  But it is removable.

I wouldn't worry about the Remgrit blade myself, it's not remotely sharp after all. ;). As you say though; even if someone did have a problem you could always discard the blade and keep the rest of the tool. :tu:

Wanting to join as well.

So far my only Gerber-tool. I didn't really think I'd get along with it, due to it being alot bigger than what I've carried so far and the fact that all tools are on the inside, but so far I really like it. Especially the flicking. :D

However, when I tried to make a cut earlier today, the pliers got misaligned. It didn't make the cut, and I didn't expect it to, I was just trying to get a feel for how solid and comfortable the tool is.

Has any of you ever experienced this? The pliers still slide freely in the handle and when I take the plier head out of the handle, I can't see any damage at all, except the misalignment. It won't interfere with my use of the tool, it just annoys me...

And while we're at it... When the pliers are all closed, like in the picture, they're pretty hard to open; most of the time, I end up using both hands on the handles. Are they supposed to be like that or should they just move freely, as soon as they're out of the handle?

I own 9 MP600's and 5 of them are hard to open/close. It just depends on what they cranked out I suppose. As for the alignment, that is not good, none of mine do that.

If you were trying to cut hard wire it proably made a burr which will misalign the pliers. The burr can be filed out and the pliers should return to normal.     :)
