I always paired my Waves with a premium charge sheath. Those are tough and will give you years of hard use.

I picked up a BO wave with cap crimper off ebay for a decent price, under $65 for just the tool and sheath and it was like new. Added a bit set $20 and told myself I would give it a couple months trial. I've carried a Swiss Trekker for the majority of the last decade but recently I've been wanting pliers and more tools. The Wave has given me a lot of good use so far. We'll see how it continues to perform. I have a friend who has a couple of broken waves mostly in the plier hinge area so I realize its not a bomb proof tool however it is pulling its weight pretty well....the nylon sheath not so much. That will be replaced with a kydex/leather combo when i get the chance to make one.

Today's carry the first LM I EDC'd, but it was not this one.

The older Wave got retired at proper time, back in the day. Even though I usually carry the Spirit instead, I feel nostalgic this week!

Thanks for the cool thread OP.

I've owned a few Waves over the years, great tools and I always regret parting ways with them. I'm tempted to go out and get another but a) funds are tight right now and b) surely it won't be long before we see a new version of the Wave with the Rebar-style pliers head.

I think personally we will see the "new" Wave at Shot Show or at least that is my hope

Love the Wave! I have both the old and new versions but I prefer the older model; better scissors and no bits to lose.

reviving this old thread to remind us of how famous and iconic has the Wave become all around the world.
Today I saw it pictured as the "Multitool of choice" for hiking, camping and survival situations as per the book's authors' recommendations

long live the Wave!  :ahhh

My G1 Wave with LM tool set, ratchet and extension. They look new because I clean them but I carry it and use it every day at work. It's all I need for any quick job :tu:
