Which amazes me when you think of it. Is Metric used in the US much?

Metric is ubiquitous in the automotive industry here, among other things. Even domestic cars are almost entirely metric nowdays, since brands operate worldwide and need compatibility between parts. Pretty much any other product that's sold worldwide is the same way. The only things I can think of that are still in Imperial sizes are plumbing and other similar hardware items.

I actually put in my opinion, on Leatherman's FB page, on what their next pockettool should be.
I recommended that their next Pockettool should be an "upgrade" of a proven, venerable, and respected tool

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P-38_can_opener

Why?    Even though almost every pockettool on the market will open a bottle with ease.  I need a can opener!!!! :tu: :gimme:

At Leatherman's retail store I was told BTN had been discontinued due to someone who was involved in the project had left the company, so I snatched a set.

I recently purchased the No. 6.   I thought, "Uh, why did I buy this?"  I rarely need a bottle opener and the screwdriver is one of the worst!".   Well, the other day, a bolt fell out of the lawn mower handle.  I went to the basement, got a new one, and then tried to install it with the small Crescent Wrench I keep in the elastic webbing  of my Super Tool's nylon sheath.  Well, that was too big as the wrench would not fit in the depressed hole where the bolt fit into.  So, I got out the No. 6, which I'd been keeping in the small front pocket of my sheath in case I needed the wrenches or the box opener.  The wrench set on it did the job! The package opener has opened several packages since I bought the No. 6    I think I may have to pick up a bunch of these, since they're discontinued now.   The BTN series has been the only kind of one piece tool I actually like.

It's a real shame that these were discontinued. Now I wish I'd gotten a set when I could afford them.

I got the #5 because I wanted an open wrench a little smaller than a Piranha, and anyway I didn't want the Piranha 2.

It's a cool tool except for the design fail in having the driver and scraper edges in a line.  Disappointing because the issue is recognised in the #3.  So I've sacrificed the driver and added a 4mm mini-bit slot.  The scraper I want mainly to open tins of paint.  Does all the everyday metric bolt sizes.  Happy.

These are now discontinued then? I originally thought these were going to be for a very limited run, more to see what worked and what did not work as part of market research.

I know that feeling.  Mine were drawer queens.  UNTIL!!  I got my bicycle fixed up and working again!!!! :tu:

Well, it appears that they will release new ones. Someone's already posted a pic of the #11.

These do look really nice. Slightly expensive for a keychain-sized OPMT, but not terribly.

Well, let's see...

Interestingly enough, in the individual picture, it's labelled as #11, but it's clearly #12 on the tool.

Thank you for even considering Kampfer.  :tu:  Some pieces are missing in LM's sales site. Will call the store and see if they will consider shipping the set. It's our 11th year wedding anniversary this week and my wife said the gift should be steel. I jumped and aid this is what I want  :)

Half of mine came in today - the other half from amazon will probably arrive before the weekend.

Ok, first impressions......erm.....
I'm really not surprised leatherman have pulled the plug on these. There's nothing remarkable about them whatsoever,  and jeez are they tiny!!
I don't claim to know it all, but what I do know is right.

I just received mine and am examining them thoroughly. I'm no expert when it comes to OPT, but I really like the size of these. So far, my favorite is #6. It has the bottle opener, the wrench, a keyring hole, and what seems to form a tiny flat driver at the tip. This may be good for limited prying.

Overall, I'm impressed. I'm glad I got a set before they go out of production :D
