Just ordered a SC52w L2. I want to start using rechargeable batteries, but I am clueless where to start. I would like a good quality that won't break the bank. I'm thinking of 14500's. Suggestions?

AW protected batteries and a Nitecore i4 charger. (You need a special charger for li-ion batteries and the i4 can handle both them and regular ones)

Thank you for the info. Any particular brand of battery that you would suggest?

Never used the eagletac ones, but they are a good flashlight manufacturer so I'm guessing they should be ok.

AW's I've been using for some time and like them.

I have some Eagletac 18650 and RCR123A's, and they are fine.

I'm going to get some eneloops to run in my SC51w. I want to try the 14500, because I can achieve 500 lumens for the first minute in the new SC52w. I like the wow factor.  :D

I have one Eagletac 14500, it's fine.
I also have 4 Eneloops, they're fine.

The Eneloops were cheaper. The 14500 does have the neat 500lm trick but I'd save your pennies and buy the Eneloops. You can get more for the same amount of money which means if you're going away you can just grab a handful.

Nitecore charger is good.

Thank you everyone for your input. I will definitely buy extra eneloops to run in it on top of the 14500. If money was a problem I wouldn't be here.
