If you want to dip your toe in the Li-ion pond, grab a couple of 14500 cells and charger. Throw one of them in a compatible AA light and stand back.I have a couple of single AA lights that are happy with 3.6V and the increase in light output over alkaline/NiCad/NiMH is startling.
