Minimal Skinth for Charge TTI and Zebralight SC52W?

Hi Guys,

Looking for the smallest possible Skinth to fit the following:

  • Leatherman Charge TTI - no need for bit kits/extenders
  • Zebralight AA battery SC52W - 1 inch wide at max

Must have - Belt clip
Prefer - Button snaps

Wondering how much wriggle room there is in the M or L Shield side pockets?
Looking at the specs, the fatness of the AA Zebralight might be a problem - but if it can cannibalise a bit of width from the main compartment I might be good - especially as I want a snug fit on the Charge - don't want it flopping around.

The other option is maybe the M Shield, and clip the Zebralight outside it using a side pocket, but that might risk losing the thing.

Spartan OGII is velcro, and a bit taller than needed, but still not wide enough on side pockets - 75″ wide.

The Skinth OG looks customisable for snaps, but still not fat enough side pockets if I read it right.

Advice welcome. (Other than to just buy every Skinth made and play :twak:)

The side pockets of the shields are really made for nothing bigger than AAA flashlights, my Fenix E01 fits the side pocket of my M shield alright, but not very roomy, certainly not if there's a tool in the main pocket. Also remember the Charge is quite a thick tool, secretly, so that'll take up quite some room as well.

You could just tell yourself it´s good enough to clip it to your sheath, though, leaving the light itsself outside the pouch. I used to carry my 1xAA lights like that before I got a Skinth.

Thanks for that info.

Dammit, I love my Zebralight.

I might have to stitch my own custom pouch to the side. But it would be butchery compared to the stitching of the Skinth.

Need to think this over...

Yepp...

Actually, the SC52 will barely fit in the Skinth OG, even. The head really is a bit fat :P

I'd talk to Eric directly, he's a very accommodating guy.  Given each sheath is made by hand he's always been able to make personal tweaks in the past.  Can't hurt to ask anyway. :)

Looks like an elastic side pouch  - could be just what I want - was this a hack or a factory mod?

factory mod, but I always err on the side of not having elastic webbing since it has a shelf and use life.

What I have on in the past is make a fixed webbing loop for lights. Best to have the EXACTLY dimeter of the shaft where the clip hits so it can be fitted correctly.

Thanks mate,

I have ordered a M and L Shield, I think I will mod them myself if needed - rethinking which flashlight for EDC, so no point mucking around yet. :salute:
