I had to "graft" a stop on the backspring to adjust the blade rest when folded, as otherwise it will hit the front end, and the nail-nick will be hidden (below the scale line).

Interesting. But you didn't do any photo of this? :)

I have seen several solutions here (some I have done):

Stopper integrated at the other end: here
Stopper using the 4th pin: here or here

Yours should be new here, since you integrated a stopper at the end where the tool is pinned (the blade rest). If I understood you right.

Very nice!
Did you use a Sentinel to combine the Slidelock opener layer with the linerlock blade?
I really like the outcome.

Looks nice, but is that a long gap I see between the rear liner and the red inner scale?

I did not take a picture  However, I borrowed the idea from Robert (see below a copy of his photo on this), whose execution on this stop/rest is superb. Mine was not as neat but it is hidden from site, and does the job (I used a dremel w/cutting disc to cut an inverted trapezoid - a dovetail, on which I slid the piece of scrap backspring cut to fit - sort of like they do front sights on 1911 semi-auto guns).

Weird! The side liners look like they are wavy too (left to right, as opposde to up and down) - Optical illusion I guess

I modded a Victorinox Harvester, swapping the main blade for a genuine Victorinox grafting blade. The creation's name: Horticulturist (my profession).
Isn't that bump on the top of the grafting blade also a blade
I assume it sticks out? Would this cut you if you grabbed it the wrong way in your pocket?

@ all: Thank you all for your positive feedback!  :tu:

@ lowtech: I took a Sentinel with plain blade and the Linerlock, the rest comes from a Victorinox Outrider.

@neillcurie: Since the knife has a linerlock there has to be a gap between the sclae and the liner to keep the knife locking.

You could also consider a Linerlock model with a double lock (for the blade and for the bottle opener). It would be like:

--- scale ---
scissor layer
--- liner ---
OHO blade layer
--- double liner lock ---
Opener layer (with lockable bottle opener)
--- scale
I prefere the larger bottler opener much more than that smaller version.

Flower Farmer for the lefthanded
The scales are anodized orange / grey, the liners are anodized red and green, the screws are titanium.

My Alox attempts so far...and I'm definitely not putting 'peening' on my resume... :-\

The first was a Farmer converted to a Bushcrafter.  The scales took a beating during the peening, but they were already marked up.  This is going in my pocket for hikes, so not too worried about looks.

The second went a bit better, Cadet with Wenger scissors.  I thought I'd found gold on the 'bay with an old Salesman (messed up blade), but the scissors were in bad shape too.  Found out that the scissor backspring would work with some Wenger scissors after a little filing, so I gave that a shot.  A few marks on the scales, but I will definitely be carrying this one around for a while.

Peening and the mod both look great to me.
It's a tool, remember, not jewelry  ;)

Looks pretty OK to me too

I agree - But are you sure all on this site would agree to that?  :D And even if they said they did would they think that privately!

PTRSAK had a great tip when peening alox:
- Place a piece of leather or plastic with a wee hole on the knife over the rivet

I doubt everyone else on this site thinks the same as I do, but so what. I say what I think and feel, its clear that my statements are mine and others statements are theirs. WTP???

Thanks, I saw that tip and tried it, but I think the piece I used was too thick, couldn't shape the head and ended up going without.  I'll try something different next time.

Thanks Neil!  My budget usually has me leaning away from the jewelry side of things anyway.

I apparently have the bug.  This morning I had a Compact and an Explorer, this afternoon I have a Yeoman (and some parts for an undecided next knife).

Thanks!  I'm finding out that 3 layers is the sweet spot for me, so the Yeoman was an easy choice :)  I found some donors on the 'bay, so I'll probably put together some other 3 layers next.
