Thankfully the tips I got here helped preserve those scales better than my last attempts.Nice, those rivet heads look awesome! Thanks! I don't have a drill press (yet), so I can't bore the holes for those 1/8" pivots, so I'm stuck peening. It does seem to get a bit easier each time though.

My much-modded Pioneer gets another tweak:Added a sheepsfoot blade, made from a pruner.

The carbide tile cutter bit (#562) is 1/8" in diameter and works well for drilling out stainless tools.
I will get into doing my own soon I have plans !! Although very modest compared to you guys.
One wee question though - Does the sheepsfoot close correctly and not catch on the opener? As normally it would close on the other side of its partner main blade
^^ Aha - Perfect - ThanksThis raises an interesting point:The only pruner blade I have is on an old Outdoorsman, where it is paired with the main blade, and so 'bends' to the left, as you look down from above - whereas the Harvester pruner bends to the right then??So it looks like Vic must make (or did make) pruner blades that bend both ways.Is that right? Or am I confusing myself !!
Replacing the file with the scissors would only add around 1mm to the thickness of the knife, so not much more.

Judging by the small blade on my alox Pruner that sits on the same spot as the small blade found on 91mm SAKs I'd say it could also be used in lieu of the can opener in its standard position. No idea if that would take a special backspring though.

Thanks JR.

Here is my mods made with composite epoxy materials
Great job! I like how you've kept the Vic Shield too.
