Warning to LD02 users.
The pocket clip on LD02 could pop out under the "right" condition unexpectedly, it happened twice last week and both times I had to run back to find it.

Now I super glued the damn thing in place.

I put a large O-ring around the clip now it is secured, it won't come off.

Ok, so anyone else with some long-term impressions?

I'm supposed to get mine on Monday

After my Lumintop Tool AAA (which I bought nine months ago and haven't wanted a light since), I decided that my perfect EDC light is:

- 1xAAA (I don't really work outside or need a light for outside)
- clicky
- with a clip
- easy to hold in your mouth (the AAAs generally are, but hte Lumintop required some skill, lol)

And it's smaller and and and

Curses.  I'm trying to not to work out if the LD02 could replace the LD09 in my pocket.  Not quite as bright and shorter run times but 20% smaller and half the weight.

It depends on how long you use a flashlight for ? I mean, that's it for me, actually. I've figured I really don't need an extensive lighting of areas or something. Just a quick, 3-30 second "shine" does it. So I can't justify carrying a large (AA is large for me :D) light instead of the cool AAAs that are now just as bright as my old E11 I considered bright....

Yeah, that's pretty much it for me too. The E05 on my keychain is sufficient but I don't like the twist switch and single mode. Much prefer the multi mode and tail switch on the LD09. I don't mind the size of the LD09 either - it's about the same size as a 3 or 4 later SAK. Sometimes I need a bright backup light that will last at least an hour when I'm out on my bike so the LD09 is good for that but the LD02 might be perfect for everything else.

Ok, so after about ten days, I can conclude that the LD02 is an awesome light generally, but I'm not sure about the clip. It feels slightly less reliable than on the other AAA lights i\'ve had. It spins almost freely around.... not really, but rather easily. And it can be "popped up" more easily than other lights I've had with similar clips.

The LD02 is basically an E05 with a clicky.  I have carried the latter for many moons as an EDC.  Awesome light.  For pocket carry, the twisty prevails.  But for one-handed operation, the LD02 would rock.

That is one reason why I am considering the 02 over any other aaa light. It has the clicky. even beside functionality I love that satisfaction of a good click. and it seems the ld02 is one of the few (if not only) aaa light with tail switch.

I keep checking out the LD02 everytime I end up at REI but keep passing on it because I already have the stainless E05 on my keychain. Added a chunky o-ring to the E05 to give it some grip and now one hand operation is a piece of cake.

So.... the clip on the LD02 can actually be reversed although it wasn't designed specifically to do so. This way it actually feels a lot tighter/securer/stable

Sorry I didn't see this until now, been carrying LD02 for almost a year now, love the dame thing.

But watch out for the clip popping off the light. (A tiny o-ring fixed the problem)

Yes, same thing, but I use a smaller o-ring now so it is less visible.

I'm thinking of leaving hte LD02 on my keys... i.e. less daily use, use as a back-up mostly

It depletes AAAs a lot faster than my Lumintop Tool. It turns out 100lumens is really a lot more than 70 when it comes to AAA batteries. I don't think I use it a lot on high, at least not so much compared to me previously using the Lumintop or even the Olight i3s long ago. But I feel I change the batteries a lot more often to be able to get high mode.
