They will probably just replace it as no repairs are done outside of USA anymore.

What the heck man.  It sure seems like alot of folks are getting defective backsprings.  It sounds like the heat treating is bad on some, making them too brittle.  In now way should a backspring break so easy!

I know they have a good warranty but it's such a hassle to return things...

Hope they treat you well and that you dont get the new style one.  :D

Hehe. Welcome to the club. ...

Mine also broke a week or so after I'd got it, don't remember, last month, anyway. But from what I got, they told me they can't repair the tool and I'm hiiiiighly likely to get the new model if I send it in for replacement. So I just decided to keep the old broken one... which is brand new, actually. lol.

So what exactly broke on yours? I have no back spring on my big flathead.

This is all your fault :) but I find myself examining the backsprings for hairline cracks every time I use the tool.  And every time I see a suspicious piece of fluff...

Where did yours break?  Are they pinned or just held in under tension?  Is it possible for the remaining springs to be moved to a different driver?

Here's a link to my pictures in the respective topic :) The whole spring snapped in half and fell off http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,52788.msg901706.html#msg901706

You mean you mailed Leatherman? And no response in ten days??

If you have included your address in the email, imagine they send you a new tool straightaway without any further response..
