Car Show. Super heavy photo saturation.
on: July 19, 2014, 11:58:14 PM
Today was Sault Ste Marie's Rotary Day. One of the big attractants for me, at lease as I am armed with a camera, is the car show. Wheels on the Water Car show just keeps getting bigger and better each year. There was plenty of things to point a camera at. :D

I am going to make lots of 10 photos each for convenience sake. Enjoy!

Funny enough, the President of the local car club and the even organizer approached me. He thought I was a journalist. That did give me a golden opportunity to talk with him. Rather nice man. I hope he is proud of his annual efforts, as the car show is definitely getting bigger. I can recall a time when it was just the local folks who would show up. Those days are now in the past.

I used a Canon EOS 1D Mark II N with a Canon 70-200 mm f4 L zoom lens. The lens wasn't the best choice, as I had to back across each lane way to get a full car shot. It did excel whenever I wanted to isolate a car detail. When I take photos of cars, I find the closeup shots of emblems, grills, and other interesting car details the most interesting.

Not many car shows on the Canadian side. This being the nicest, comes only once a year. So I tend to take plenty of photos.

There were a few rusting hot rods in there...which was nice to see. They stuck out amongst all that gleaming perfection.  :salute:

If I had my choice gleaming perfection would be my first pick, but if I had many a Rat would be in their somewhere.

Cheaper with a rat rod. When it ages, it just gains patina, and character.
