Well all this talk about the mp600 being built like a AK47 got me thinking of all those tests they do on the AK like burying it in mud/sand etc,so ill start with mud,ill pour water over it and who knows i may have a beenstalk in the morning  ill dig it up later and see how it works  :tu: this is someone's fault  possibly the person who said it was like a AK47  :D i better go check the dogs not dug it up  :ahhh

I heard a story once from a Vietnam vet about the AK.  His unit had captured one, and decided to see what it was capable of handling.  They fired several clips full of corrosive ammo through it, then threw it in a footlocker without cleaning.  Two months later they removed it from the locker. The bolt had rusted shut, and had to be kicked open. It fired no problem after that!  It'll be interesting to see how this little test turns out....

Sounds good to me man :tu:  I'm interested to see how this goes.  Reminds me a bit of when Joel lost his Rebar in a snowbank for a few weeks during his Fat Man/Little Boy challenge.

Got to the end of reading this page, reached out for my beer glass, and knocked about 1/3 of a pint over my Skeletool, Wave, Gerber MP450, Leatherman Mini..........and assorted bits and adapters.........all were neatly lined up so I could peruse and fondle them whenever.
Made me think that a more "urban" disaster scenario should be incorporated into the test as well as merely burying tools alive.

The big question is who's going to bury a Kalashnikov as a control for the experiment? ;)

well I got a buddy who's father buried his around 1995. dug it up in '03 i think when my buddy graduated high school. big party, they fired a few full magazines of ammo with no hitch. after they just put some pig fat on it, wrapped it in an old shirt and i think it's bricked up in a wall now
