Mine should be here tomorrow, I saw a great deal and could not resist....especially since my edc is a mid 80's PST that is definitely showing its age

Oh mate, they're very different animals! I've mostly gone back to EDCing either a PST mod,or a Sideclip mod....the OHT is very very different, but, thinking about it,the tool load is not unrelated

My PST has warped plier heads (my fault, holding them over a propane torch while trying to solder something) and the blade no longer holds an edge (my dad ground it down when he gave it to me, I was too young to be safe with it) and the smallest flathead snapped about 2 weeks ago while I was disassembling my black powder revolver.....it also has welding splatter everywhere from when I was welding a belt buckle together. So its not a very useful edc anymore and I have to have an extra pouch on my belt with my buck 110 to be ready for the day

It is a sweet tool! Still I prefer the Surge myself. But I carry my OHT every now and again.

That's us mobile.

Hello, I just ordered a leatherman oht yesterday and I was wondering what your experiences with them were/are like

So far loving it and I must confess I'm impressed. I was a little apprehensive after reading some early reviews, but totally stoked about it.
I have owned many a multitool (mostly Leatherman and few Gerbers) over the last 20 years, and this one is right up there as one of my favorites.

Some of the things I like about the OHT:
- solid pliers sliding action (unlike a sketchy feel on my Gerber MP600)
- the extra long fine-grip pliers head area
- spring loaded handles/pliers
- the whole tool and its implements can be operated with a single hand
- externally accessible tools with a liner lock for extra stability
- finally an integrated lanyard hole at the bottom of the handle (both actually)  you can use without having to extend a ridiculously long dedicated lanyard hole bit
- the fact pliers recede completely inside, unlike on MP600 for example
- it has all the tools I need and none I really long for except maybe scissors

Things I don't care much:
- slightly shorter side tools, especially the main blade
- substandard black oxide coating on the pliers side-release buttons (mine have worn off totally in less than 2 weeks, and are now silver color)

Hope this helps some of you still sitting on the fence and contemplating the 'jump'  :)

cheers,
babola
