I'll get an advanced copy, and you guys are invited the Powernoodle Compound to watch it.  I'll provide the MTs and the food.  Plenty of hot chicks will be dropping by too.  I can probably get Charlize to come party too.  We used to be engaged, you know.

Anybody knows if the story will pick up from part 3? Or is it a reinvention of the original series?

I personally liked the first movie the most, and found 3 too inconsistent with Max suddenly taking care of those kids. And now there is a group of clueless women in the trailer. I hope he does not become a harem guard this time around.  :P

Nobody knows for sure. I don't even think the producers know.
It is marketed as a sequel, but it shows a new origin story, the original car that was smashed, etc. It is rumoured that it will be a rebooted prequel for MM2 and MM3 (they even have some actors from the original series reprising the roles...)

Well, they asked Mel to reprise the role a few times and he refused...

Tom Hardy is younger, a pretty good actor, a real smufette-smurfer and... he was Bane

I agree with that but once i also thought that jack nicholson was the real jocker and a blondie who made a couple of cheesy movies was not even close to pull it off. Then heath ledger made me eat my words the first time he appeared on the movie  :salute: So anything is posible.....

+2, there is something inherently different in Gibson that he felt suitable for the role.

I like Bane, but I like Joker in the new Batman the most.  It's really a pity Heath Ledger die so early, or I would love to see him return in subsequent Batman movie.

the director said in an interview that it was something halfway between a reboot and a sequel.  i think it is sort of a re-telling of 'mad max' without the dated aspects of the original.

here is an article that breaks down the trailer a little bit:  http://io9.com/43-eye-popping-trailer-screenshots-reveal-tons-about-ma-1612283992?utm_campaign=socialflow_io9_facebook&utm_source=io9_facebook&utm_medium=socialflow

I was a pity about ledger he made a the most important villain in the batman universe with 100% quality.

I never been a bond fan at all, i think i watched one full movie at the most, when a friend persuaded me of watching casino royale i couldnt stop until i watched the whole trilogy, just great.

So there is always hope, sometimes when actors have to pass such a big test they end up giving their best. Now lets hope they deliver a great insane action movie like max deserves

For some of us who got to see a lot of these movies the first time around these reboot/re imaginings can fall a bit short of our expectations since we tend to feel the original did it well in the first place.

Unfortunately most of the time if you rewatch the original now they tend to feel really dated. For younger generations they probably have never seen the originals (although I think Mad Max is always on late night somewhere)... and this is a great excuse for them to get interested in them. Sadly they'll probably think the reboot/reimagined versions are better much due to the better graphics and lack of cheese/dated feeling in things that have been rebooted like Robocop, Total Recall and even the Star Wars (prequels).

The difficult we do immediately, the impossible takes a little longer.

New Robocop was actually pretty decent... none of the gore and shock value of the original, also shoot me, but I really enjoyed the SW Prequels...

Total Recall though... seriously? The original was great in its down-rotten gritty grimeyness. It was a dirty, dreamy, visceral world, filmed in a dirty, dreamy, viscera way... I couldn't even watch the new one to the end.. it was so bland and boring... and the audiences saw that (it barely made its money back while the original did 5 times its own budget...)
