Noticed Watch Talk and Macro...Idea!
on: August 09, 2014, 05:04:54 PM
Ok, so I have noticed a lot of watch talk and some Macro shots being posted in various threads in here....so I got the idea to take some macros of a few watches. Here is my first submission...a Bulova Automatic.

For my second submission...the infamous Kansas City Railroad Pocket Watch.

Infamous in that I found this little cheap treasure in a dollar store. I paid only a buck for it. I thought the metal tin looked at least worth that much. Needless to say, I wasn't expecting this to work..but a little surprised it did. You can tell this cheapest of the cheapest tries real hard to look pretty. After Googling it, I can see why. This can be yours for a whole lot more than what I paid for...its an As Seen on TV Special!

Oh yeah, I doubt the story is real, and the society definitely isn't.  :D

Thanks detron.

Now for my oldest watch...which is also my first. Bought I think in the late 70s. I remember hating this thing my father forced me to wear, trying to  teach me how to read time. I remember at the time being frustrated because I just couldn't understand it. These days, they sell watches designed to teach youngsters how to read a proper analog watch. I hope the old battery didn't leak all over destroying this watch. I plan to get it running again someday.

Meet the vintage Timex Electric.

A Citizen Eco-Drive Skyhawk Blue Angels. Yes, I stored this one away from sunlight for some time now, and it looks like it is in need of some serious light charging. That explains why the LCD section is not operational for these photos. That is an issue when not wearing these type of watches on a daily basis.
