MT in new TMNT movie
on: August 10, 2014, 06:08:40 AM
That's the Ninja Turtles movie for those unfamiliar.  Anyway, Raphael (the red one) has an MT strapped to his chest.

Looked like a Supertool-type shape, but I'm betting they just grabbed a knock off.

If anyone goes to see the movie,  keep an eye out towards the beginning.

Requires some freeze framing, but this is a trailer for the movie dedicated to showing off Raphael. You can see the tool, but it's quite difficult to make out what it is.

Aren't these guys just CGI in this flick? If so, wouldn't that mean it's just rendered art?

EDIT: Hey, look at that... the multitool is in the display image for the vid.  :multi:

Just rented on dvd.
It is an impressive render of a ST300
At 1:29:40-1:29:50 There are several really good close ups.
They got the following features;
Neck down crimp at pliers
Handle cutouts for blade
Inch ruler is visible
Locking tabs
Correct layer count stack w/ spaces in between as if the washers were there
Flat head screws shaded to imply texture

Slow motion and zoom are such handy features.
It is nice to see someone doing animation pay that kind of detail, or they were using a 3d scanner for object capture and rendering and that was the tool on hand or in a stock file.
I also noticed it was flipped in its retainer from the mansion fight to the tower fall. It was plier up for most the movie then plier down at the end.

Yes I was looking for it in the film....
see what yall've done to me.
Now I cant enjoy a movie with out critiquing a MT, even if its fake
