I'm loving this thread. I just wish I had a DeLorean right about now. And on a side note. What do you call those scales featured on the Dragonfly my Pacific Salt has FRN and they're strong as an ox but they just feel a little too light weight. I prefer something a little heavier.

They are G10 over milled out liners. And well worth the extra weight IMO.

I agree with zoidberg on this one.

Day 43:
Not much to report. The dragonfly does everything well. The edge holds up well. I cant really notice much differences between the steels of the Ambitious and the Dragonfly in day to day use. The VG 10 seems more rust resistant at this point though.

So I am looking at adding a little knife to my next order and have the choice of the following short list.
I think I am excluding the Ambitious for now.

Either a G10 Cat or one of the Dragonfly 2's.
Salt Serrated, ZDP-189, Orange FRN or plain black,

What do you think?
I like bigger blades hence the Cat, I'm ok with 440C but a ZDP might be special.
An orange one to go with my Military?
I dont have and Salts and I hear the serrated one is awesome?

I recently purchased a extrema ratio BF1 1 which costs 130 euros, this was my first high end folder, although i don't regret it i don't know if it was the smartest decision. I am always hard on my knives and now i have to be careful with it.

I consider a knife a tool, and you don't baby your tools either, so i would probably be better off with a cheap buck knife but it was more like a present for my self, some people buy an expensive watch,i buy an expensive knife.

Thanks! I was quite new to spydercos before I started this thread, now I love them too. :)

I too think twice about what Im about to do when using a pricey knife. I dont do that when using a cheap knife.

For work use i would recommend a cheap buck knife, not a Chinese crappy knife.
The extrema ratio is more a present for my self,i do not edc it, i only have it I pyjama pants.
I don't really baby it, but i have promised one thing.i will not use it as a pry bar. I just can not afford it to break it.

I have it more for the another reason.
It is an awesome folding knife with great quality that will last for years and it has a lifetime warranty.
I ever get kids i trade it to them.
Then it is probably twenty five years old and you rather give your kids an high quality knife than a worn out cheap Chinese knife.

High end knives will probably keep their value pretty good or rise in value

I touched up the blade again today.

Very nice.

Where you get the scales Noodle?

Sorry for the delay in seeing this.  I think the blue scales were a sprint run - or possibly a dealer exclusive - from Spyderco.

I love folding knives for everyday carry.
I believe that I would increase my knowledge here.
If I need to pick some good EDC tools.
Then I would take my love leatherman multi tool wave and a flash light. Other are just a waste !!!
