Earlier today I ordered this little ambitious guy :D From the States, though, as it was sold out everywhere on our shops here. SIGH. I hope the customs don't catch me again ...

Thanks guys :) I guess I'll get it, just I'll have to pay additional customs charges  :twak: It happens usually with more expensive stuff I get from the US. I've ordered some pricey thingies from China, but they've never been in customs. Anyway, if I'd bought it from Bulgaria, it would've been more expensive, anyway, so ... yeah. I just hope it gets here shortly. I even got a confirmation email that it's been shipped the same, day  :o

I'll play too :D I'll keep the Ambitious as my only/main EDC blade for as long as I can starting today. So far it's cut just some food, paper, a plastic bottle.... I bet it'll be enough for almost everything.

I only hope it doesn't rust as easily as some people state. I tend to wash it with water after using it for food.. and then dry it with a towel or something.

Thats awesome!

I wonder if you will like it as much as I did?

Mine did develop some minor rust, but it cleaned away easily enough.
A few drops of oil should keep the rust away though. Mineral oil, or just olive oil works well for knives that needs to be food safe. :)

Lol, this with the olive oil sounds good. It had crossed my mind before, but I've never actually tried it.

And yes, I like the knife :D That's my first Spydie and I love smaller EDC items overall, so I couldn't but love it :D

Mineral oil is also dirt cheap, and probably better for oiling pivots and MT,s.  I think olive oil can get a little sticky over time, but Im not sure.

I'm afraid it may start smelling bad... but if I wash the knife regularly, it may wash away with time. We'll see :D

Get some mineral oil from the drug store. Works good for the pivots and even the blade for rust protection and it's food safe.

Day 83:
Not much to report.
The smaller, pointier blade of the dragonfly, has its advantages over the Ambi for finer work and cutting zipties. While the Abitious is better at rougher tasks and removing material.
At this point I cant really tell much difference between the steels other than the superior corrotion resistance of the VG10 Dragonfly.

Day 107:
Yesterday I gave the dragonfly another touch up, probably the last one of this test.
The dragonflys 120 days are soon over, and I will put it on the shelf with heavy heart. The Dragonfly will certainly find its way back into EDC rotation, when the rest of the tests are over.

120 days of carrying the Gerber Bear Grylls Compact II are coming next. I think Ill start a new thread for that.

Day 119:
I carried both the Dragonfly and Ambi today, to test them a bit side by side.

Tomorrow will be the Dragonflys last day.
