It's not the most powerful, not the most accurate. But it's so cool.

It's mine!!

But my 7yr old did borrow it a few times, she found it easy to cock. Unlike her rebelle cross bow which is pump action, now that it really hard to cock.

didn't take long for the custom painters/modders to find these. You wouldn't think these are the same would you?

My son and I were into some nerf battling a few years ago and I build my own high powered one.  Its a bit too crazy as it can crush a pop can with the force.  Its got quite the recoil too.

Its made of lexan.  I found the plans online for it with all the mcmaster carr numbers to order to build it.

The cheaper ones don't really need hacks but don't take mags.
The Triad (my cheapest one) fires like the Rampage (my most expensive) but is less accurate.
The Hammershot is quite fun.
The Rough Cut is also fun to use. You can load and fire it on the run like the Triad.

The Retaliator is the cheapest one with a mag and comes with removable stock and barrel.
Easy to remove locks, upgrade springs and do breech hacks etc.

Another to look at would be the Alpha Trooper. I haven't found one yet but its on my want list.
